Make capture the flag 20x rarer than it is now or give us the ability to chose what modes we want to play. It is the worst mode in any game it touches and I don't wanna play it 5 times in a row. Also stop putting me in servers with 90-150 ping thanks. Region select would be cool. I don't know why everyone's complaining about the Battle Pass. I barely even looked at the thing and from what I can tell it doesn't affect the game. You're not gonna die from having a default skin lol.

!!!THIS GAME IS WORTH THE $40!!!

*TL;DR* If you like multiplayer shooters with learning curves, if you like rocket-jumping, if you actually like fun, if you hate F2P ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and want to go back to polished games that you can actually own, if you don't like monopolies in the hero-based shooter genre, then buy this game. Be the change that you want to see in the world. I don't know what the people ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about the pricetag were expecting lol.

All the other reviews seem to be coming from entitled moaners that demand that every multiplayer game be F2P now with a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ battlepass (we'll get to that), I don't get why there's such a demand from the consumer for more games that are designed to squeeze out every last cent out of you over time with cosmetics and whatnot (or actual features). Did people have an issue paying $60 ($80 AUD on release IIRC) for Overwatch when it came out? You're pretty much getting the same thing, a fast paced multiplayer hero-based shooter, and I do feel Rocket Arena probably has a steeper learning curve with all of the tech and powerups.

Bottom line, this game is really good. All of the characters are really unique and fun, the modes are nice, the maps are varied (people are also complaining about "THERE'S ONLY X MAPS!!! THERE'S ONLY X HEROES" as if they won't add anymore later...) and I think a shooter designed entirely around rockets, rocket-jumping, and rocket-related tech is a really unique idea. So it really hurts me that there's not that many people playing, even with crossplay on I struggle to find a match, probably doesn't help that they seem to have added OCE servers and there doesn't seem to be an option in game to switch regions, but hey I think if you play any sort of multiplayer game in OCE you're probably more than used to waiting a while for a match.

As for the battlepass, which is what the other portion of the negative reviews seem to endlessly rag on about, they fail to mention this:

1- It's just cosmetics and don't affect gameplay at all and,
2- *YOU CAN EASILY GET THE CURRENCY FROM JUST PLAYING*

Don't get me wrong I don't like battlepasses and think that it's ♥♥♥♥♥♥ to have one in a game that you're paying for, but then I realised how many credits you get when you just play the game, even the fancy premium one that you buy, you can actually just get it without spending another dollar on the game, which really took me by surprise. People just see an ingame store and just piss themselves and uninstall without investigating further, which I think it's really disingenuous.

Now before you accuse me of being a shill or whatever, the game does have its issues:

-No textchat: This is probably the one that irks me the most, having any sort of competitive game that restricts communication is just awful, I don't care if you're trying to prevent "toxicity" or whatever else. If you're gonna do that, then at least make the quick chat commands actually useful.

-The game kicks you out of queue if you've been at it for too long: It's really bizarre, and I've never seen this in any other game. You can't really do that in a game with such a small playerbase.

-Other QoL changes that might be useful, like queueing for several modes at once, and maybe putting a level/time cap on competitive considering that you can just play it straight away, but again, the game is like a month old. Patience.

-Alsoooo you have to have an Origins account and connect it to your Steam, just some more manure that's trying to bury this gem of a game. I'm lucky I had one from playing Apex Legends, but it might be annoying for the rest of you.

If you're willing to get past that and have been looking for another hero-based shooter game to learn and sink your time into, then have fun!!!

I've been looking for another gimmicky multiplayer shooter to waste my time on since Overwatch has gone pretty downhill due to its own balancing issues and fun-sucking mechanics that they keep introducing, and I'm happy to say that I've found it (pretty lucky too considering that I've only found out about this game because I scrolled through the little Steam news popup window thingy upon startup).

The gameplay itself is a breath of fresh air and fleshed out enough to keep you entertained for hours whether you want to play as a shark or a diver. So far the game seems pretty balanced, and there was nothing that really made me go "okay that's pretty broken". And I might still be pretty new at the game, but I can tell there's plenty of mechanics and techniques to learn to truly get good, but it's not confusing enough for you to be completely overwhelmed (in other words easy to learn but hard to master).

My only complaint is that if you want to play the mode that's not Blood and Gold (Megalodon Hunt), prepare to wait up to 15 minutes for a game. I guess it's not a real complaint since there is nothing the devs could really do about it, I just wish more people played that mode lol.

Oh and don't let the low player count scare you, I generally didn't have to wait for more than 3 minutes before finding a game (Unless you want to play playing Megalodon Hunt, that is).
