Halo finally perfectly made for PC in mind, and we're getting all of it. Every campaign, every game's multiplayer. All the Halos. In one game.
It's as good as it sounds.

One of the only card video games I've truly loved, there's always something new to try, and the strategy runs very deep, yet isn't too convoluted.

Ignore the recent surge of negative reviews, the developers changed, and during the transition to a new client there were many bugs and design changes that aren't quite permanent. In less than a month most of them are already fixed, and soon the game will be pristine and clean again, better than it was before. The game's looking up again, content on the way.

A truly amazing experience.
You piece together a remarkable and ambitious story one discovery at a time, but pace yourself, because this seems quite a convoluted reality that Cyan has weaved. At first, convoluted, mysterious, boggling.. Almost feels like an X-Files episode or something. Very slow at the beginning too, you might have thoughts like what's the point of this, or what even is going on. But that seems to be very much intentional, Cyan is playing our conventional gamer expectations like an instrument.
Piece by piece, the majestic tale they've woven falls into place and it's truly impressive, astounding, and compelling.

To actually mention just about any explicit detail of the gameplay would likely be a spoiler of story, lore, or puzzle, so I'll only describe the experience of playing from my perspective from here on out.

I haven't played a game in years where I've been able to lose myself in the world, and actually *care* to delve into each and every detail of the meticulously crafted lore and gorgeous environments. Even after each play session, the experience followed me around in my day to day life, still unresolved, one foot in this completely 'other' existence where I hadn't yet unraveled the mystery.
Literally didn't even think of each time I sat down to play as going to 'play a game on the puter' as I normally do, but rather to return to the priviledge that unraveling this mystery is and soaking up this insane and amazing reality that Cyan concocted.

Such beautiful graphical design. The effects are other-worldly, inventive, fresh, and gorgeous.
So much attention to detail, practically every square inch of the game has some meaning relevant to the story, or to build upon the lore and mystery of it all, or to play as part of a puzzle in your way of progressing. Often it's all of those things at the same time, which is a pretty astounding feat of game design in my opinion.

An actually unique experience, and an insanely beautiful one.
Other than Cyan's other games, I've never played anything quite like this. Almost undefinable in terms of genre. Some may call it a 'walking simulator' but that's like calling Chrono Trigger a '2D action RPG'.
I've never really played any walking simulators I've liked, I would call this far beyond that epithet.

You're not hand-held, ever, and thank god for that. Discovery-based mechanics to the max.
(Unless you use their finely crafted walkthrough, Obduction Exploration Guide, but I recommend that you don't the first time you take a crack at the game. I never used a walkthrough and was able to explore and complete everything, and I'm convinced that's the best way to play. Though if you need to look one or two things up I'm sure you can manage that without much spoilers.)

This 'game' is a work of art in the form of a video game. That's the medium Cyan clearly loves, and their love is evident throughout the experience. They're telling a story. That's primarily what this is rather than a conventional gaming experience, although just sitting and stepping through what they've made is pretty astonishingly rewarding.

Understandably not a game for everyone, there is no combat or traditional stuff like that, and it isn't pushing you constantly to get your next adrenaline high like many games of today (not to dog that, this just isn't the same thing is all).
Though, I would describe almost the entire experience after the first couple hours as pretty consistently exciting, in a more cerebral and complex sort of way. Similar to the feeling when reading a really captivating book, but different.
This is slower paced than most games, but that only allows your eyes and ears get to feast upon this remarkable tale through an interactive world, unlike any I've ever seen in a video game.

And I didn't even play it in VR, I imagine that only amplifies everything.
I recommend using a controller for movement, more immersive than WASD.
And dammit the immersion is so worth it here.

Never played a game quite like it. There's a real sense of your personal responsibility as a member of the airship's crew to do as much as you can to keep it afloat and win the match, and it's exhilirating all the while no matter your role, yet a serenely beautiful experience.
Strategy, tactics, and teamwork are the name of the game here, with personal skill meaning little if you have to pull the weight of the entire crew. Lots of ships and guns to choose from, the placement of guns on every ship customizable, making every team's airship approach the battlefield differently.
Elegantly executed, extremely fun, and completely unique. Makes my boy parts tingle every time I play it.
