A beautiful epilogue, that deals with a magnificent character struggle, and brings closure you didn't even know you needed.

A journey of over 120 hours, a story with laughs, cries and incomprehensible emotions throughout it all. A beautiful piece, thank you for giving it to us Ryukishi07, and thank you MangaGamer for bringing it to steam.

I love this game, and the series, but I get the feeling this'll be the last one.
But I feel like it's missing something.

The story here is great, some magnificent psychological build up (the protagonist this time has character!) and it has some real great character moments. However, because of those character moments, a lot of other characters get sidelined, and the same applies to places in the school. If you think that setting looked nice, you'll never see it again. except for old school building and fox forest

As someone who loved the art of the older games, Kazuhiro Oya's take was incredible. But I feel the design of the spirits have sunken in contrast to what we have here. The older spirits were horrifying, looked like a real grudge given form, like something I wouldn't even dare go near let alone want to see! yet here we have spirits that are like 'yea im a girl who hung herself and my neck long asf'
Also, i would like to comment on the brutality of the cgs. In the older games, we saw the most gruesome death you could imagine, genuine nightmare fuel that put any horror you've ever seen to shame, but now we get something that looks just a lil' spooky and doesn't feel like it fits in a horror game.
Don't even get me started on the sexual cgs those are weird as hell.
I want to be scared, I don't want to be horny.

But the music is magnificent, something truly beautiful. The deduction them, and the theme of the school, both really capture the atmosphere, and it's super wondrous how it works, I genuinely feel oppressed when I feel like I'm being talked to in the school, thanks to the music. (the composer is Naoaki Jimbo and he is THE BEST composer, im just sayin' if he needs a kidney or two)

And overall?
I really enjoyed this game, I was there since the announcement trailer. I waited several years (since the release of NG) for another game, and they've delivered a great piece of art. (also the side scrolling mechanic is cool)
I only bought the game because I'm a nut for this series, but if you're on the fence, just wait till it goes on sale.
