I do recommend this game, but I do so sort of tentatively.
Despite being an mmo, this game plays a lot more like a single player rpg or like how you would play minecraft with friends. There is a lot of content in this game to explore with from character building to base building, wandering around, pet catching and leveling- but it doesn't really excel strongly in any of them if you want to focus on any one thing you will likely end up frustrated. If you are like me and like doing a little bit of all of those things though and are okay with "singleplayer with occasionally running into other people" then try it. If you want an mmo because you like mmos you will not be happy though. As other people have said I also don't recommend spending huge amounts of money and make sure to link up with an other account or an email and don't leave it stuck as "guest account".
There are also... a glaring amount of bugs. It is basically still a beta game, despite being released. But the community is helpful and seems to update regularly.

The time I've spent in game as of writing this review was all in one consecutive sitting and I think that says more about how I feel than anything I could actually say about it.

Best dress up game of all time, barbie ain't got nothing on this.

EDIT: It appears the game just works fine now when I saw it had a small patch I hadn't installed yet. And it IS fun. Probably the best dollar i did ever spend in fact. So now that it's functional I'm changing my reccomendation to a yes. :)

Old review: After seeing so many glowing reviews about how it was even fun for adults, it's unicorn skyrim, etc. I was excited to play it for a few silly hours.
Made my unicorn. Game failed to load past that despite multiple attempts. Windows 10, Nvidia 1650, should have played fine at highest graphics settings. Instead choked at normal ones and made my computer fan go nuts.
Well, at least I only spent a dollar on it. :/

Game has no business being this fun. But it is.

Despite the rocky release, please give this game a chance. It won't crash for everyone and the devs are continuously working on patches and updates and are very good about communicating. I've been following this game for almost 2 years through the different beta releases and the full release has not disappointed. In fact I've only encountered 1 crash on day one and has since been patched so things are running smoothly.

Edit response to the devs: Honestly I wouldn't even know where to begin to give advice on it, it just isn't very intuitive, probably needs it's own tutorial to show newbies/people who aren't familiar with normal mmos how to use it, and ended up confusing and frustrating me. I came to this game after playing the other games in the elder scrolls franchise rather than coming to play it because I like mmos.

My favorite elder scrolls game. Just enough elements to be considered one of the last true good rpgs but not so difficult as to be smash my keyboard frustrating. And one of the most easily moddable and beautiful games.
