It's a good game, and has a lot more content than you would expect for a $17 game.

The story is engaging, and the environments are excellently designed to provide extra narrative.

There are a lot of different mechanics to play around with, and the puzzles can get pretty challenging. However, it seems a lot of the challenge comes from complexity and obscurity. For me, a good puzzle is like untying a knot, where you come to small conclusions to unravel the bigger picture. A lot of the levels seem to throw a lot of pointless complexity at you out of the gate (pointless in the sense that you need to test the possible routes, but they end up being obviously false once you do). Some mechanics are more guilty of this than others, but it seems to be a theme.

There's also a lack of exposure to emergent behavior from the mechanics, which is what separates good games from the great like The Talos Principle, Stephen's Sausage Roll, and Baba is You. It's still there, but the game seems to rely more on modifying the mechanics or introducing new ones instead, leaving you with the feeling that there was more the learn before moving on.

In summary, there is a lack of elegance in a lot of the levels, however it still provides a fun challenge.

My only other negative is that I got stuck for several hours because a bug wouldn't let me pass the level even though I had the correct solution. It mysteriously fixed itself at some point after trying the only possible solution for the umpteenth time.
