its a pirates life for me

Last played this in 2016.. returning in 2022 all i gotta say is.. what have they done to you my boy, NW.... man what a ♥♥♥♥ show, went from a complex but with time understandable fun challenging game, that you could sink hundreds of hours into.. Now the "prologue" story has been cut down to the point you just have no idea what your doing and who you are in this wold... theres no characer progression anymore (i remember being able to choose from heaps of different cooldowns, now theres like what 5?) no loot or feel good XP gains.. trash game now, and in a time when new world is a flop and all i want is to press ♥♥♥ WASD to move around in an mmo instead of clicking all over my screen.

still had my artifacts tho.. so guess that gave me an extra 5 minutes of fun...

After 20 Hours, On the ranked grind to Platinum 1, there's a few things that if added would honestly polish this game sooo much.

1. in duel comms (Pre written text lines you can that you can send to your opponent, maybe a cheeky taunt to try throw them off)
- hello, lets duel, your good, nice move, i want to duel you again! things like that..

2. every time you go back to the main menu, i have to wait a few seconds for the client to "reconnect" while only minor, if your a no life like me with slow internet, and are trying to get all the challenges and duel pass levels as fast as possible to get gems. it gets a little annoying.

3. Lessen the allowed time per turn in ranked play BY A LOT!!!! outside of ranked, sure 8 minutes a turn is fine for casual lobbies, but waiting what feels like a month for your opponent to literally waste 28 cards to setup some awesome play that's countered by dark hole.... yeah it gets a little boring sometimes, just waiting.

4. Bigger penalty for surrendering in ranked play. I'm not too sure of how the ranked actually works (it seems more like a progression than an actual rank) However, whenever someone doesn't get the cards they need, or thinks they're about to be beaten, they just surrender, Ruining a potentially epic replay. Personal Belief but i believe players should almost be forced to take the loss on the chin, or take a blow to your rank for leaving a Duel early (like most other competitive games)

The first yugioh game i played was YuGiOh Dawn of destiny, on my OG Xbox as a kid, and its what got me hooked into yugioh (along with the First Anime Series). Basic cards, basic plays, but good fun. This game brings back A LOT of nostalgia with how the game plays, especially with the solo play. quick duels, casual and ranked lobbies, upfront easy gems that definitely help you get started and into the game very fast! but best of all is the variety of cards available!! so many cool meta and non meta builds seen so far. definitely a step up from duel links :P

If you keep up to date with the card game and you still like anything about yugioh you'll love this tbh.
