This game is a "Grimm" reminder of how fairy tales used to be.

Each episode concentrates on one fairy tale, introducing the episode with the modern saccharine version, and then you take control of Grimm a dwarf with the powers of darkness that must turn the tales back into their original darker form.

The gameplay is slightly similar to Katamari, at the start you can only convert small items into dark items as your darkness grows, you move faster and jump farther and your "area of influence" grows too.

Many of the fairy tale villagers will try to clean up Grimm's mess unless stunned or attacked by dark villagers or dark forest dwellers.

The controls aren't perfect many times you will die due to the slippery controls, but the game is never so demanding that it should really matter that much.

Since the game is episodic many assets are recycled, but at the same time many episodes stand out with the "darkness motif", in King Midas you'll turn everything into gold, in the Frog King every will slowly be covered in slime and so on.

Each episode is about as short as the tale it's based on and can be beaten in less than an hour easily unless you try to get all the collectibles and gold medals, but with 23 episodes, you'll get more than money's worth.

The LEGO Movie game is just like any other LEGO game, except for once it caters to people who actually like playing with LEGOS.

Instead of just breaking stuff and combining it into whatever you need, now sometimes you need to find instructions for more complex LEGO creations and then play a mini-game that gets you more involved with the building and let's you appreciate how much effort goes into these creations a bit more.

The "job" system also caters a bit more to real LEGO fans since the jobs are the kind you get from normal LEGO sets, firemen, builders, wild west gunmen and cops.

The real difference from other LEGO games is the "completionist" part. This game "only" has 75 gold brick, but after the nightmare of collecting the brutal 250 gold bricks in LEGO Marvel, this is a much less frustrating and more fun experience.

Gone are the terrible racing games that were either too easy or too hard, gone are the overly long and convoluted quests for a measly gold brick. This is something I sincerely welcome and I really hope this stays this way.

You only have to get all the collectibles and all the rest of the gold bricks are in the bonus room, that's it and that's how I hope it stay for the next game.

The fact that I'm probably going to buy a LEGO set after playing this game speaks volumes on how this game is about the love for LEGOs.
