It's the Dungeons and Dragons you've always loved, with more Skill related Gameplay, and not quite as many dicerolls.

Combat isn't terribly complicated, but has enough Tools to make for a varied experience (as you play, the game will continue to get more difficult in Combat). (and is Direct Combat, no Dicerolls, live, active Combat).
the Cards and the rest of the game around the Combat, is well Narrated, and forms interesting experiences.
since the Cards you encounter are randomly built, you will hit streaks in a row that will screw you, but the vast majority of the time, experiences will be Challenging, and varied, but won't be trying to beat you up.
note that when Encounters produce a 'random' success choice, the Cards are actually being shuffled. visually track them to be able to pick the result you want. it's not as easy as it sounds, but it's much nicer than complete randomization.

i.e. this is a fantastic game. a lot of content, and a lot of interesting experiences to be had.

but you were already sold after 'Dungeons and Dragons with more Skill related Gameplay', ofcourse. :)

Earth Defense Force is an incredibly silly game. it's dumb and stupid in all of the best ways.

many hours of hysterical laughter as you and your friends work together, troll each other, find ridiculous Equipment, and ofcourse, mow down lots of Bugs and Robots.

what more can i say? the game is 'terrible', in all of the best possible ways.

yes, it's a Console Game. it's acceptable provided you pay attention to the handy Guide to run the game at 60FPS rather than 30FPS.

Ring Runner: Flight of the Sages blew me away.
it had looked interesting for a long time, as if the gameplay would be different and something i could really enjoy.

after trying it, boy was i right. but i got a LOT more than i bargained for, from an Indie Developer i've never heard of, and the pretty bargain bin price.
this game, has downright absurd depth and attention to detail.

the gameplay is very skill based, controlling your ship takes practice and mastering of Inertial forces.
Gameplay is not just point and click, you will be required to think your actions out to control your ship well and survive. Controls are numerous and will take some getting used to, but i find are very rewarding to invest the effort to do so.

the Story... doesn't suck. i know, that's weird, a Video Game with a story that isn't garbage.
to build on this story you get from the Campaign, there is ample flavor text on just about everything - which ties into the story.

and boy, the customization and variety. as you play through the Campaign, you are given the opportunity to try out many ships and get a feel for them. eventually though, you're given free Hangar customization freedom. i was already loving the game before that, and as soon as i saw the Hangar, and all of the customization available.... just wow.
browsing the customization, i was instantly overwhelmed with buckets of unique parts and ships. there's a playstyle for everyone. hell, there's probably 20 playstyles for everyone, because there's just so many different ways to play.

an enourmous plethora of Weapons, special Abilities, Ship classes and Hulls in each class to choose from. every single Weapon, Ability and Hull does a spectacular job of standing out from the rest, and being unique. no cookie cutter content here.

Ring Runner will also run on just about anything, while still looking very nice and can be an enjoyable visual experience for both low end and high end users.
the Options allow for wide customization of Video, Audio, Controls, as well as Gameplay related features and settings. if you're a power user, you will not feel left out if you prefer things a certain way.

playing Ring Runner, i can feel as if i'm in a living Universe. Characters have personality, and the backstory of this Universe is more than sufficient for your mind to build the world around you.

the only complaints i could possibly have, are all very minor. the Menu UI could be built a little better, and the game HUD could be easier to see against the background of the game. a couple of the colors blend in with the background of the game a little too well, and can therefore be hard to read.

all in all, i am blown away by this little gem i've found. Ring Runner doesn't deserve the meager existence it has, this is a much, much better game than it appears to be. it is a shame that Ring Runner is not well known of, as this game should be much more popular than it is.

a very well presented product, Triple B Titles has a very well put together game here. the name Triple B doesn't even do justice, this is a higher quality game than that.

Ring Runner is now one of my favorite Space Games.
if i was forced to rate Ring Runner, i would rate no lower than 90.0/100.

Hard Reset is rather impressive. the combat is exhilerating and satisfying.
the enemies and volume of them can be really difficult sometimes ;) but overall, a really solid game.
i love the modular weapon designs, and the many different modules & upgrades that are available to tailor to your style of gaming.
if you like shooters(that challenge you), and / or futuristic games, you'll have a blast with Hard Reset.

note - since the Exile Expansion, Hard Reset has had a lot of it's issues smoothed out, mainly the story ending abruptly and the enemies getting old eventually. the Expansion also has even more beautiful levels than the original set did.

and this proprietary custom engine continues to blow me away. i happily await to see what else Flying Wild Hog has up their sleeve. as their debut title has set the bar high for delivering an experience.
