This game is a bethemoth of a strategy game; if you can get past the steep entry fee for base game and countless expasions, you're already half way there. If you can also find enjoyment out of spending literally 10s to 100s of hours on one match, you're getting close. The last part, and hardest, is learning how to play the game. The in-game tutorials are child's play and really only show you the very basics of the game. With all of that out of the way, given enough time I think most people can find enjoyment out of this title.
The game is very flexible, letting players pretty much play how they want. That being as a warmongering tyrant, or a peace subject annex kind of guy; there's many ways to play and there's an overt number of playstyles to master. If you or someone you know is, most likely, a father in his mid 30s or someone who has way too much time on their hands; I recommend the game for you.
