The wife and I enjoy playing this game for casual downtime. You can play solo, friends only, or open multiplayer if you wish. There are time-limited events but there are so many multiplayer farms open to the public they are easy to complete. You can easily lose track of time as you design your farms, your houses, rearrange layouts, etc. Really fun game!

Beautifully stunning game. Easy to pick up, will take a while to master. Misleadingly simple in its design, very techniucal in its flow. Very well balanced for an early access game. I can see myself putting in hundreds of hours and I look forward to seeing what all the updates bring. None of the bugs are critical, just minor clipping issues so far. Really good job, Coffee Stain!

P.S. Bring a friend. Just do it. It makes it easier and even more fun.

I really loved the idea of a Cyberpunk-esque looter-shooter. It's a bit of a learning curve in the beginning as you wrap your mind around some of the new concepts, but you pick it up fairly quickly. Definitely in the vein of "easy to pick up, hard to master". The artwork, the animations, the music, none of it disappoints. The atmosphere is absolutely beautiful. I love the upgrade and customization paths. Augmentations and loot boxes? Yes, please!

The missions are fun, and it runs smooth! The only drawback is that there are currently some bugs in co-op play, but the Devs are already on top of it with a thread started for posting co-op issues.

Definitely a game I can see myself playing for a lot more hours. See you on Veles, Indents!

Used to only play this game on and off with the kiddos at random times. It has improved so much. The lag caused caused by memory buffer overflow issues has been almost completely resolved (at least for me). The UI is cleaner, the music is more varied and quite charming. The new maps, and easier matchmaking make this a solid new favorite. The unlockable in game cosmetic items and ways to customize your round of golf make this game twice as fun as it used to be. I can easily see myself putting in many, many more hours here now :D

This game is brutal. The devs are evil. Friends for the boss fights in this game are mandatory. I paid full price for this game and I love Gunfire Games for taking my money. Do not underestimate the enemies in this game. The pathing is amazing (if you can do it, so can they pretty much). Watch your back constantly, play this game with headphones so you can hear the audio queues, and be prepared for world boss fights that have been beautifully and viciously designed. You will die. A lot. You will get frustrated. But bring 2 more friends and a LOT of ammo, upgraded weapons and gear, and you may stand a chance. The randomly generated worlds (each playthrough is different) means you will have to do a LOT of thorough searching if you are an achievement hunter or collector. OCD in this game is just as bad as lack of attention :D The mods for the weapons add beautiful variation to your arsenal output, and there is a mod for every need. Choose wisely ;) The graphics are beautiful, and the music is done nicely.

I still can't put this game down, I'm having an absolute blast with the beautiful different worlds, learning boss fight strategies, and trying to collect everything. By the way, there is no pause in this game, so tread carefully and invest in your Traits as soon as you can. Definitely worth it at full price, and for those of you waiting, if you get it on sale later, it will be a steal and a gem for your collection.

P.S. Starting tomorrow, Sep 12, the devs are bringing in the first of free additional content in this game. A list of content updates and future plans can be found on the store page.

Beautifully narrated short story that can be played in one sitting about two friends and what happened ages ago. I really enjoyed my time in Marie's Room and if you enjoyed 'Life is Strange', you will definitely enjoy this. The developers did a great job on this, and I'm really hoping for something more from them in the near future. The icing on the cake is that this gem is 'Free to Play', making it well worth your time for a short and fun experience.

Simon Amstell is the voice actor behind this gem of a short game. I'm assuming Wheatley from Portal 2 was an inspiration for his amazing performance as "The Stage Manager". While more of an interactive walking sim than "game", per se, I loved the detail and polish. I'm keeping Crows Crows Crows on the radar and am excited to see what future plans they may have for a future release on Steam.

If you are a completionist, and/or OCD, there are fun achievements to pick up along the way as well. It's free, it's fun, why not give it a go? ESPECIALLY if you are a fan of Wheatley-themed based narrative.

In a "game" that is simply about collecting achievements, and in line with most of this developers other "games", it fails.
Currently stuck at 4970/5000 achievments with no dev response to the numerous individuals citing this error. Will gladly change this review once the developer fixes his issues, but for now, avoid this one. The main reason you would buy this for doesn't even work, LOL. Currently the only way to get all the achievements in this game is to apply a "fix" for the developer's laziness.

Kingdoms and Castles is by far one of the best casual medieval sandbox city builder games I have played. It's not micromanaged, the learning curve is excellent, and it's incredibly fun. As urban sprawl hits, and you decide you may want to go for the end game population achievements, population density comes into play. You will (maybe) destroy a few things, re-route roads, and tweak your kingdom quite a bit. Hardly any glitches that I experienced personally, save for the fact that the AI is not too smart at times (taking longer paths through things, going to a farther out stockpile, etc).

If you only have a little bit of time to play here and there, and love this genre, this one is brilliant and beautiful enough to fit the bill. The music is simple and pleasant enough (think Minecraft), and the occasional weather effects are quite nice. It's engaging, addicting, and simply a lot of fun!

I paid $10 for this when it first game out, and definitely feel like I got my money's worth. If this title sounds fun to you, and you can get it for even less, you won't regret it one bit. If you have kids who enjoy Minecraft, get them to try this one as well.

There are some complaints about the number and amount of invasions. You learn, adapt and overcome quickly. If a strategy isn't working out, defend yourself another way. You *will* need to utilize different methods of thwarting the attacks. And that is a great feeling ;)

The game does get a bit repetitive, and a bit grindy, but the quick and easy save function allows you to come and go to visit your kingdom as you wish. About the 2,500 population mark, I found myself pushing hard just to get the last two achievements.

The devs are very active in bug fixes and balancing, and they are already announcing updates with more features. When that comes around, I will gladly visit my kingdom again and enjoy it some more.

Only had 3 things I could list for wanting to see addressed with this game.

Cons: (Not really even cons so much, as quirks I'd like to see addressed)

- Winter brightness needs to be halved, at *least*. OMG the brightness when winter hits. Ouch.
- Please, devs, even if it costs the kingdom a "monthly gold maintenance fee", how about the option for an "auto festival"? On 4x speed while playing, every 3 minutes you have to hit the town squares for festivals just to keep happiness up. :P
- The ballista towers need balancing. They were *so* underwhelming, eventually I quit using them and just went archer towers everywhere. MUCH higher DPS engaging targets. (OK, this is a con).

** I can't confirm this one, devs, but I sure had a *lot* of fires break out adjacent charcoal mines. Intentional?

Pro Tips:
- You can build a quarry to multiple sides of a mine for more efficient resource gathering.
- Put as many buildings as you can in barren land spots for later development. You will need the fertile and very fertile locations for food!
- Turn clouds off. It's pretty at first, but when you start taking more of a wide angle top down view, they get in the way of everything you can see later in the game.
- Get foresters down as soon as you can.
- Have at least 3 town squares as soon as you can. Great for getting happiness up there.
- Build archer towers interspaced throughout your kingdom, it helps for taking down errant dragons and lost vikings ;)
- Don't underestimate hospitals. Plague and illness can ravage your population.
- Playing on 4x speed as soon as you are comfortable with it will save time.
- In my kingdom, I eventually walled off the entire city, building archer towers along the outer sides. As the vikings were looking for a place to land, they were being mercilessly picked off ;)
- Every now and then, run through your kingdom and check for damaged buildings that need to be demolished and rebuilt. So much happens that you quit looking at the notification box (at least I did), and eventually you will miss a thing or two.

** Many more, but half the fun is in discovering those yourself!

My completion time to 100% achievements, about 25 hours or so, mostly playing on 4x. Worth every moment.

Update:
With the latest changes and additions, this game is even more fun than before. If you haven't picked it up and it is on your wishlist, grabbing it now during the Steam sale is a great deal!

This is one of the best games you can get for around a $1. The puzzles are fun, progress in difficulty, and makes it a great time waster without having to pull your hair out. Easy achievements, fun easter egg achievements, trading cards and great level design makes Zup! 2 a worthy sequel to Zup!. And you can get a FREE DLC pack that extends this game by another 5 to 10 minutes or so. What more could you ask for? :D
