I normally have bad takes on everything and I'm incoherent so bear with.

TL:DR: Bioshock/Half-Life but better and more engaging!!!! (and not a snoozefest)

I've been waiting to play this game since it first hit the internet, I love this kind of stuff!

Very cool game, scratches my brain's itchy bits. Like Bioshock but better and not dull, and you can keep fighting if you don't have a gun. Characters are cool, some people say main character is annoying but I personally can understand why he's so annoyed all the time, who wouldn't be annoyed if you were putting canisters in doors lol!

I like the 'hover over cabinets with F to gather stuff' mechanic, and the no-penalty scrapping too so I can switch playstyles. Upgrades are epic, reminds me of Doom but not so expensive or boring. The neuropolymer glove upgrades are neat, love the SHOK one simply because I'm smashing robots most of the time and you can get a chain hit upgrade for it.

The overall aesthetic as well is so cool, so many different things, places and enviroments that give me dopamine. Story is good so far, not finished it but it's pretty decent.

The open world gameplay also reminds me of Just Cause/Sunset Overdrive with how calm and lovely everything is but can soon be chaotic, I've not gotten to the part of the game where everything is accessible yet (see previous paragraph), but I'm sure it'll be great.

Voice acting is pretty good, I put english subtitles on and love how hovering over russian text gives an english pop up. The dialogue is sometimes out of nowhere with some stuff but that's probably my fault because I don't pay attention and let characters finish lol, sometimes when I talk to someone and then walk to a new area it just plays the new area dialogue instead of finishing the conversation so I'll take my time!

Enemies are decent, I love hacking away at them, I'm terrible at dodging and normally just bob and weave enemies and melee them or pick them off with with ranged weapons and attacks.

I'm running it on low graphics because my pc is not up to date with most amazing new games, but it is still very enjoyable and doesn't impede my enjoyment.

Overall so far I'd give it a hypothetical 8/10, got it on sale and so far its probably worth the full price, might get the DLC with leftover money!

Amazing game, definitely more fun that Half-Life 1 and its sidegames, one complaint I have is Alyx.

Why do we need her? She's useless, slow, annoying and horrible to everyone.

And SHE gets her own game???

Where the hell is Adrian Shephard??

He deserves to be Gordon's sidekick, like Barney, who on a sidenote doesn't appear as much.

I love this game but please, PLEASE remove Alyx, she adds practically nothing with her whining and sarcasm, no matter how many energy balls I fling in her constantly scowling face.
