Really enjoy the gameplay loop of mining, fending off waves of enemies, and deciding what to upgrade to make either of those tasks easier or more interesting~

The way the game introduces you to the mechanics by starting with just the base ones, then letting you pick which new/more complicated mechanics to unlock after each round was very clever, and a fun way to keep the learning curve manageable/avoid being overwhelming.

A beautiful 2D platformer, both visually & SFX/background music, creates quite the atmosphere. Feels good to find tools that make navigation quicker and easier and unlock all the nooks and crannies of the world map, still find myself wandering to unlock as much as I can before trying them out so that I am more likely to encounter the rare location-changing NPC.

So far only played singleplayer - enjoy the gameplay loop of organizing the restaurant, taking customer orders, cooking the orders & keeping the dishes/floors clean. The randomized tools & cards at each level are a pretty nice way to be slowly introduced to new aspects and game mechanics, hopefully later will have the option to create specific levels/tools to practice working with certain tool configurations (kinda like a creative mode), but the main rouge-like mode of the game is also pretty fun - easy to lose when you get bad card combos (or fail to realize you forgot to turn on the oven to cook the pizza), but just as easy to jump back in and try again.

Some great additions to the Jackbox Party Pack family here. My favorites were Blather Rounds & Champ'd Up (the more you play, the more "fighters" you get to choose from!).

Some of the games were buggier than usual, but I'll attribute that to being popular/new & a lot of people playing them. Only had one crash on my phone, which led to a bug report form - very nice~

More options for subtitles were a welcome addition, as well as levels of profanity filtering, and the ability to delegate moderation to someone else other than the players in the game will make this even better for streaming or playing in more public settings like conventions.

The Devil's in the Details: a tricky game, but quite fun once you learn how completing the tasks work, and the special challenges & customize-able difficulty levels add to the game's replay-ability.

The same for Talking Points - I imagine once my friends & I get used to the main game, we'll have fun building our own talking points in the "Free Talk" option.

Quiplash 3 - Awesome you can choose your own characters! The adorable originals are there alongside some more cute additions! The clay-mation aesthetic started out nice, but the swirling, pulsing background-sections were a bit too....textured, it became more off-putting the longer we played (reminded me of the inside of someone's intestine).

Mostly bought this pack for 'Patently Stupid' which I love, haven't really tried the other games but nice to see them continuing to innovate & try new things.

I didn't expect to end up liking Mae Borowski as much as I did. Her (they're?) life, attitude, hang-ups, and flaws certainly didn't remind me of my own experiences. They felt more like how NOT to go through life, or on a more positive view how to find enjoyment in unusual places.

But their presentation was so authentic and matter-of-fact, and once I got to know them it became easier to understand their point of view and reasons for doing what they do. Through this game I was able to walk (or in most cases parkour) in their shoes long enough to notice the things we DID have in common. I grew to love them, want them to succeed, to make friends and take care of themselves and others, to find a place that they truly belonged and felt loved and wanted.

I'm glad to have been able to play this game.

PS - the music & art style are also worthy of praise, and in my opinion the soundtrack is worth the extra expense

If you've managed to avoid most of the spoilers of this game before playing, congratulations! You're in for a treat!

I found that this game had the most umph and impact when I didn't know exactly what the results of my in-game choices would be. And discovering the characters and traversing the plot myself on foot lent so much more weight to it all than if I'd simply watched a Let's Play or read the story like a book.

What you choose to do in this game DOES matter, as much as any choice you make in real life.

Even if you've seen it done before, play this game yourself. No let's player in the world will ever do things quite like you would, and there's plenty of bits and bobs that only you would find if you so cared to look~

PS - If you like video game music (or anything that's hoppin' and easy to exercise to) buy the soundtrack too! I've gotten SO much mileage out of it, totally worth the expense!
