Valve HATES this game. At the time of writing this, Valve has just DMCA'd the TF2 Source 2 port and the Portal64 community projects. The Valve that exists today is a shadow of its former self. Ever since 2015, Valve Software has been on a horrible downward spiral with their titular "Software". Not making games anymore? Fine. Selling their VR r&d to Meta? Whatever. Neglecting their IPs and slowing update cycles to a snails pace? That sucks ig oh well. No desktop half-life sequel? No major TF2 updates or support in 7 years? The bot crisis? Crate depression? All icing on the cake.

The TF2 Source 2 port was the ONE thing that had a DECENT SHOT at giving TF2 a new lease at life for the foreseeable future. Sure, its development was struggling already and the takedown was only the "final nail in the coffin", but the Valve of 20 years ago would've HIRED these extremely talented community developers and made an EXCELLENT game from it. The Valve of today, however, is an irresponsible, soulless corporate entity that could give less of a damn about making excellent games. They'd rather suck off their sugar daddies in Japan and stomp out community content to line their ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ wallets for another couple years. ♥♥♥♥ Valve, this "Capitalism and Economy" sale is a bitchmade corpocuck move to rub salt in the wounds of all the passionate community developers that DONT get to make ANY money off of their hard work and commitment to these passion projects.

I have zero respect for this new Valve. I won't dignify them with a "PLEASE #SAVETF2" or any more kindly worded letters pleading and begging for them to give a ♥♥♥♥ about any of their IPs. I HOPE the bots rot this game into the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ground.

If you feel similarly, quit buying games on Steam. There ARE options. Use GOG, Humble Bundle, itch.io, or ♥♥♥♥ it just pirate them on any of the hundreds of piracy websites out there (seriously its easier than you think). Valve has robbed us of some very promising prospects for the future of their games, and we the community are the ones left holding the bag.

ok so apparently theres a new #FixTF2 movement which is supposed to be like a #SaveTF2 but based so i support that i guess. idunno. the bot crisis is really bad but the true criminal shame is the pure negligence by valve to do ANYTHING AT ALL for this game and community in 2024. They would rather ♥♥♥♥ out a brand new ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ MOBA SHOOTER that will *also* inevitably get run over by bots and ditched in a few years. VALVE. YOUR GAMES. ARE NOT. FOOD. WE DO NOT CHEW THEM UP AND DIGEST THEM. WE PLAY THEM. FOR YEARS. PLEASE TREAT THEM WITH THE RESPECT AND DIGNITY THAT EVERYONE WHO PLAYS THEM DOES AND ACTUALLY START TO GIVE A ♥♥♥♥ ABOUT THEM.
