Gone Home isn't so much a traditional game as it is a performance piece, the same as a play or a short story, except you control the pace and rhythm of said story. Interaction is mostly limited to only walking through the house and examining items strewn about. Don't think that, with that said, it offers nothing to the player.

What IS in Gone Home is a fantastic story of teen love and finding your own identity. The way it is told, spoonfed to you in small bits, is what makes it far more interesting than if it were simply read as prose.

Gone Home is an experience, and one I recommend to anyone. You will come out of it greater than you went in, provided you take your time and pay attention, of course. Think of it as a DVD. You watch it once, you probably won't watch it again immediately. But there will be some rainy day when the story has gotten a little fuzzy in your head, and you'll replay Gone Home to refresh it. And you'll enjoy it all over again.
