Dr. Jeffrey A. Towbin is the Executive Co-Director of the Heart Institute and Professor & Chief of Pediatric Cardiology at Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, as well as Vice Chair of Pediatrics for Strategic Advancement at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis. He did his Pediatric Residency at Children’s Hospital Medical Center before moving to Houston to do his Pediatric Cardiology Fellowship at Texas Children’s Hospital in 1985. He joined the faculty of Baylor College of Medicine and Texas Children’s Hospital in July 1989 and was promoted to the rank of tenured Professor in 1998 and became Chief of Pediatric Cardiology from 2003-2009, leading the program to a #3 ranking in US News & World Report and #2 ranking in Parent Magazine.
