Saw this on the Switch day of release, figured the PC version is the way to go. This is a very polished and balanced game once you get used to it. You can easily see this is a labor of love by the developer and by far the best indie sports sim I have ever come across. Looking forward to the future as the developer is committed to adding additional features. The graphics are top-notch pixel art and the sound fits this game very well. It's as if Tecmo Bowl grew up and married Sega Genesis John Madden. If that sounds good to you, this is truly a must-buy!

I'm going to have to give it a big thumbs down. Not much here to justify playing this over Eastside Hockey Manager 2007. I would love to give it a thumbs up, but now I'm just disappointed I paid for this in Early Access. Shame on me for thinking I was supporting development when the only thing we supported was making SI easy money. Thanks, SI. You will be the last publisher who fools me with Early Access.

One simple mechanic that bugs the crap out of me in both versions: just because a kid is Canadian, that doesn't mean he only aims to play major junior. Just because a kid is American, that doesn't mean he only aims to play college hockey. This big logic hole ruins both games for me. Junior A/NCAA aspects of this series continues to be an after thought. Would have loved to take control of a team in the USHL or any of the other Junior A team. The only junior alternative this game (and Electonic Art's games) gives is Canadian major junior. Meh.

Wow, the gameplay, art (including cutscenes), and music harkens back to the NES, MSX, and Master System. It's a nice challenge and everything just feels right. Talk about feelings of nostalgia! I highly recommend if you grew up with a NES.

Quite possibly the most overrated game in my library.

This game somehow makes me feel stupid.

The best game on Steam no one is playing.

Steam hasn't listed the Linux version but it indeed works on Linux natively. I'm not sure how I received this game originally but it's the only classic FPS that I'm aware of that runs natively on Linux.

A lot of effort was taken by the Swedish developer to make a game that harken back to our arcade playing days, even capped by a 30 minute, super cheesy 80s inspired "movie" that accompanies this affair. A fine presentation is there to entice you to believe this game is going to be an enjoyable experience, much like Far Cry Blood Dragon. However, the movie and game starts out great but whimpers by the time I realized "oh, this has gone on too long". A lot seem to enjoy the simple game play but it's too simple and forces the game to lack any depth whatsoever. Too much time was spent on presentation with the lack of trying to make a decent game. Instead of going with a tried and true formula, the game goes with a 2 button masher for moving left/right w/attacking at the same time. Not sure why moving UP/DOWN/LEFT/RIGHT plus 1 button attack and 1 button for jumping couldn't have been part of this game's equation.

I can't recommend this even at the cheap price. Again, too much spent on presentation but there isn't much of a game worth playing here. I would 99% never dismiss a game at this low price point but this game wasn't what I expected. Hoping this review keeps anyone from making the same mistake.

Addictive; one of the few games each my entire family enjoys. When first released there were a few bugs to be ironed out. To paraphrase a sentiment from the game, this is the first game released by Greenheart Games and I can't wait what else they may have in store.
