Obviously a parody of The Witness, The Looker is a short and mostly pretty funny jaunt through a visually similar area with an ostensibly similar puzzle design element pulling you through. There are a couple of times where expectations from TW are subverted in truly funny ways, but on the whole I get the feeling that the creator of this spent more time dunking on TW than actually making any attempt to capture the interesting elements of the more complex puzzle design the other game has.

Many of the voice logs in TW can be pretentious as has been remarked by a ton of people, including me, but there are interesting ideas discussed in the quotes that I think are oftentimes worth considering, and they are almost completely unrelated to the mechanical realities of the game so can easily be ignored. TW is contemplative and slow paced with some genuine surprises. The Looker is a successful, if at times frustrating Parody of TW, but I think that it fails as satire and as a critique of TW's design.

Snake and the shapes puzzle suck ass, trial and error and memorization, not something to learn from or a puzzle that applies previous game knowledge in a challenging way.

More fun than a lot of texas hold'em applications, eventually the voicelines get grating, but it is nice to revisit. If it ever gets relisted, pick it up on sale.

Every level wrapped with us feeling like we missed something, including the final one. Not satisfied, but for 50% off ($6 for 2 copies) it isn't awful way to spend an hour.

If you're the type of person to enjoy a walking simulator or a casual mystery game, I cannot recommend Paradise killer enough. It is far from perfect, and there are certainly some repetition issues with the puzzles. You will be rewarded for tracking down every lead you can sniff out, so take your time. You may be forced to make some difficult choices in the name of justice.

The less you know, the better. If you are on the fence, don't look any further, just give it a shot. Tons of heart with an amazing soundtrack.

I really wish this game didn't feel so F2P. Fun with a friend, but you can feel that it wants you to spend money.

Great puzzle game for the first part, really falls off towards the end in my opinion. It isn't really a matter of it becoming too complex, but more that the fun of discovering solutions is what drove me through the bulk of it, and when it comes time to string it all together it really slows the pace of things. There is a lot of additional content packed into the edges to really keep you digging.

Twice the jokes and twice the portals. You get two campaigns for the price of one. This game cannot be recommended enough, but you absolutely need to play the first game.
