Do you like losing games because of bad RNG?
Then this is the game for you.

A lot better than it was at release. Definitely 100 hrs of fun doing all the questing and exploring.

The end game is non existent and the currency caps are absolutely atrocious.
The game would have been better served as single player than this quasi-MMO mess.

It's a mediocre, bug laden, GTA game with repetitive side quests that are uninspired and a surprisingly short main quest line that manages to make the large game world feel unused.

There's a lot wrong with this game from rampant items you cannot pick up, to your car randomly stopping and refusing to drive, to brawls that start without input detection working, and NPCs breaking their following mechanics and ending up frozen. You'd think after a year this would all be sorted, but it is not. This is apparently better than it was at launch too.

A handful of the sidequests are worth doing and are actually fully fleshed out missions, but 90% of them are inconsequential, repetitive tasks, which makes the game world less engaging. It is full of dull objectives rather than engaging ones. The strength of the compelling main story is weakened by its shortness and I longed for a story that fully utilized the world they created.

The DLC is pretty fun. I replayed the whole game as melee and it was very fun. Might be more overpowered than rifles and hacks.

That said, still graphic issues and crashes. Dogtown seems to have memory leaks. Memory leaks out of cutscenes in general. Driving somehow felt worse. These shouldn't be a thing on a 3070.

There were still crashes coming out of fast travel where the vehicle would drop from the sky on spawn and just crash the game.

Bodies still have the bug where they retain momentum sometimes. So if you kill a guy in a car his body has the speed of the car and goes flying past you at 80mph.

There is plenty of fun to be had, but the game still has noticeable flaws that will affect your experience.

The swarm missions that block the game are ridiculously hard to beat, and they completely prevent you from continuing the campaign.
Dreadfully poor QA testing. If you want a fun RTS SP experience. This is not it.

The beginning of the game is absolutely brutal as far as difficulty goes. It is tedious and dull rather than merely being a challenge. After the first 2 hrs it gets better, but it really wasn't fun starting the first episode. The bear hunt in the second episode is notoriously glitchy with the AI getting stuck fleeing. It happened to me, and I can't finish the story now.

Would not recommend the game.

Absolutely stunning game world, great story, great voice acting, great game mechanics, and great pacing. The fighting is solid, the stealth is passable even though there is no cover system, and that platforming is pretty much perfect, The side quests are enjoyable without feeling tedious, the puzzles are fun and challenging, and the collectibles are easy to hunt compared to most games. This game improves upon and succeeds in the design laid out in the 2013 series reboot. They even added a challenge mode for extra replayability. If you liked the previous iteration, you will love this game. I'd highly recommend it to all my friends.

Positives::
+Great main story
+Great voice acting
+Great game world
+Good driving
+Good cover and stealth mechanics
+Good weapon variety
+Good graphics
+Good radio
+Slow motion for driving and combat
+Unique territory mechanic
+No more speed limit or red light enforcement from police

Negatives::
-Repetitive side quests
-Repetitive optional quests
-Some side quests take place in the same spot as a main quest, so you play through the same building twice
-Visual bugs and game bugs that require reloading
-The way the cut-scene story is told spoils events before you actually perform them
-The very last cut scene
-A lot of driving back and forth to places you've been to reach mission starting points

I would definitely recommend this game as a fun open world GTA style shooter. I read a bunch of reviews and everything was so negative I put off getting this for a year. It has its flaws, but it is definitely an enjoyable experience. Of the three games, I think this has the best main story. Any fan of the series should definitely play this. You won't regret it.

Fun little game. A bit challenging, but very enjoyable. Shame it is only 2 hrs.
