Where to even start on this game.
Well I guess the best way is to get into how this game makes me feel.
Its just like going on a big adventure that throws you into a world that is incredibly harsh, and overcoming it feels so incredibly rewarding. Killing the rare bosses, completing mini quests, getting the rare weapons. Going from Nearly losing your home to owning several, And then there is the Legacy system where weapons and armor can be handed down to a new character through special chests and some transform into more powerful cool looking weapons as well. Even the way you need to fight your way up a mountain into the Center to be able to unlock magic. There's just something so satisfying about your character being literally a normal person to gaining so much skill and power they can hold their own against their foes. Even with all that skill and magic and special gear, you still can make mistakes and get smashed. Also the feeling of CO-OP is so good, its like going on a dangerous camping trip/adventure, fishing and hunting and cooking meals, learning what resources around the world can help you make special meals or teas that can soothe you or help you regain burnt stamina. Like, for a game made by a small team there was so much love and care put into it. It has It's issues sure, and you may come across small bugs and things but they rarely are game breaking. Plus if you struggle a lot or just want to add some quality of life features to the game it is really easy to add mods to it using Thunderstore. It's insanely fun as is but the mods really do give the game just a little nudge to make it feel perfect. My personal suggestion for mods that will keep the games authentic difficulty while still giving you tools to make your play-through easier are the Combat HUD mod, The More Map Details mod, Multiple Quick slot bars(For a Mage/Gunslinger Or Spell-sword build) and a great one for co-op Shared Quest rewards. I really hope with the upcoming release of the definitive edition, that more people across all platforms try this game out, cause it really deserves more attention.
