So for me this game runs pretty well, if you take into account all the problems other people are having with this game.

I'm running an AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D, 32GB RAM, MSI 2080TI 11GB on 1080p and the game runs from an SSD.
The game defaulted to high preset(no tweaking done), and I have a steady 45fps in a town of 6000 people running at maximum speed.

To me this frame rate it very acceptable with how the game looks, plays and feels.

Are people playing this game at 8k, do they have it installed on their old HDD or is my silicon just so much better than everybody else? Its mind boggling how bad this game performs for everybody.

Anyway, for me it runs fine and when it runs its pretty good.

As i recently finished getting all the achievements in the game I thought it was time to write a review.

To start of with(as many already said), the combat is pure RNG with some parameters that can be adjusted, your stats(that you can roll for in the beginning of the game and spent points to increase them), stance(basically how you are standing in combat, shield up high, feet in the ground etc.) and your stamina level. Stance and stamina change during combat by doing actions like attacking, doing feints, shield bashes or being on the receiving end of these actions by the enemy.

This game is quite hard, to be able to win a fight a and kill your opponent you need to either be a better fighter than your opponent, be lucky or fight a boring 80-90 turn duel. That said, to "win" the campaign you dont actually need to kill anyone. You win if you survive three campaign, Hispania, Africa and Macedon. The Hispania is the hardest, Africa can be dicey at times but Macedon is a guarantee victory of you dont do anything stupid like duel the Bullwark or the Chilarch without having ~90 in both sword and shield and have high endurance.

After you have a few legionaries die(its normal, happened a lot irl as well), you get points to increase your stats and eventually you get further and further until you win, get more points get a higher score get more points etc.

That said there are strategies to win hard fights, like fatiguing the enemy while staying defensive. And not to take risky chancing attack weak points.

All in all, the game is challenging and fun. Hitting a low chance neck slice at the end of a combat face and barely making the requirements to get a new throphy are amazing, while missing some high chance strikes are frustrating keep in mind that its simulating ancient combat unexpected things happen and overconfidence is a real thing

Played the game on the free weekend, and well i have 16 hours now..... Really fun to play with a friend/friends and the communitie is also very friendly, made a cople of new friends. What i found very important is fire support roles, like mortar crews with assault teams in light armor roaming and supporting the main squads that do the main fighting(the frontline squads), so squad coördination is very important. Overall is it a very good game already, if you like the realistic shooters that are heavely realiant on teambased gameplay.
