while the game makes you feel like a badass it also manages to have a unnerving dread to it that quake fails to give if you pick it up for the first time today
the guns feel just right and the maps have a nice balance between claustrophobia and arena to frag out on that it doesn't get overly repetitive
one part that I didn't really like is e3m9 (the dweller in the darkness) as it feels more like bonus content by throwing a army of every enemy with a ton of pickups rather than a well balanced mission like the rest of the game
(played on "I can take it" difficulty)

Early Access Review
I forgor :skull: about this game until the dev responded to my review so I rechecked it out and it's pretty good now and quite tense, the things I at least had issues with initially has been ironed out and since the dev is still around and seems to keep making active progress towards the game is good to see


(previous review on the first early access release build (since it's a edit and my perception is based of the earlier build I will keep it in)): right now I wouldn't recommend buying it, 15 euros for 2 hours of game with the early access™ promise is a bit ehh
also make melee enemies actually threatening, as soon as you realise the axe guy and torch guy can't do ♥♥♥♥ if you are holding s (and a if it's the torch guy) they become a joke

expansion pack that fleshes out the characters that didn't get much screen time in the first game and a chapter to tie together the game with the next game, the two first chapters are kind of mid but the other chapters were captivating

wait a minute, that card... says bioshock infinite-ly mid
the only big upsides this game has compared to the previous games really is the astonishing graphics and a cute poster girl
ironically, even with the funny sky hook the level design feels overly linear
the way you hack turrets in this game is by using a power which only hacks it temporarily and makes it something you want to avoid using outside of temporarily controlling a patriot (especially until you upgrade it so it doesn't take 50% of your salt(eve(blue juice or whatever you call it))), did anyone complain about how it was done in bioshock 2?
in the other bioshocks you want to actively use all your guns to maximize ammo pickups, here you are most likely going to use the two same guns through most of the game because you can only carry two of them at once and it's not like you will run out of ammo when elizabeth will throw you some more when you need it, the combat also heavily favors mid to ranged combat so you can forget about the shotgun most of the game
the characters feel really lackluster and pales in comparison to the charisma 1 (and even 2) had, none of them felt like someone I should care about and the main character is really annoying
I could probably go on and on but overall in my opinion this is the worst bioshock by far
