Early Access Review
This game is some of the absolute most fun you can have for $10. Seriously, if you have any doubts, just go for it. Even if you end up despising the game, it's only $10. I've had so much fun playing this with friends on and off. I don't feel pressured to come back, and there's no need to sink hours and hours into it, but you end up doing so because it's /fun/. Seriously, it's one of the best comedy horror games one could ask for- and yes I'm calling it a comedy because I've never had a game make me actually hyperventilate from just laughing so hard.

Ninjas play free!
Mostly.
I got into this game a few years back, and then kinda abruptly stopped a lil bit before veilbreaker came out. I came back around the end of last year, and I've been playing daily more or less! Let's go over some reasons I love this game:

Pros:
-It just feels good to play. Everything you do feels impactful, and the game does a good job at making you feel rewarded for the time you put into making things good.
-There's a gameplay style for everyone. Wanna go in guns blazing? Be an immortal bastion? Prefer more of a "caster", type playstyle? If you can imagine it, you can build it! There's a bit of everything for everyone.
-The aesthetics and customization options are really good! Even for free players, you can get a lot of customization options without paying a cent. Even if you do pay, the creators of the cosmetics get a cut which is pretty cool.
-The community is amazing. Out of all MMOs and multiplayer games I've played (Classic PSO2, a bit of FFXIV, and an attempt at Maplestory), I've never once had an issue with anyone in the community. To the person who first traded me my Prime Rhino and told me, "Welcome to the Orokin System, and good luck, Tenno!", thank you. You made me excited to be a part of this place.
-The narrative is interesting... but more on that later.

Cons:
-For beginners, this game will feel extremely daunting if you don't have someone holding your hand. There's so much going on, and it can be kind of an un-welcoming experience if you don't have a friend helping you out. Global chat is.... meme-posting at best, offensive and spoiler filled at worst.
-Grinding can also be sort of a drag. Some late game resources are, to put it lightly, a pain in the ass to get. Early game it's not that bad... if you have someone to taxi you, as the optimal farm spots aren't available right off the gate.
-Platinum is sort of essential. You need it for inventory space. Sure, you can put in $20, wait for a 75% off plat coupon, or grind mods to trade for plat, but it does suck that so much is gated by platinum. I wish inventory management was better.
-While I do like the story, and a lot of the individual quest are SUPER fun and interesting... the lore is sort of a mess. I would really like if there was a condensed way to read up on lore, rather than having it be split up everywhere between codex entries and other obscure places. Bro I still don't know what what the hell Duviri is, where it came from, or who the hell are Drax soldiers. Though, that may have been on me for missing stuff

Overall, this is a great game, that is kinda held back by some annoying monetization here n there, and some rather non-beginner friendly grind walls. Play it with friends for a good time. Probably wouldn't recommend going into it solo, unless you REALLY like grinding.

I always wanted to be an astronaut.

It's been ages since a game has truly left a mark on me.
Playing games feels like a chore now a days if it's not a game I'm already heavily invested in. I don't have the time or energy to really get into a 60+ hour Triple A game with a huge price tag.
I came into this game totally blind, not even knowing about the main gimmick of the game cause I didn't even read the tool tip. Honestly, part of me thought, I'll play this with my partner once or twice, and maybe forget about it or put it in the backlog.

That could not have been further from the truth.

This game is, without exaggeration one of, if not, /the/ best game I have ever played. Within just the first 10 minutes, I was already immensely captivated by it. From the moment you answer the first prompt of the game, to the second you click on Exit to Desktop for the last time, there isn't a second that I wasn't engaged. This game brought me such an overwhelming passion to explore, to learn, to see this beautiful universe we're spawned into.

People are often scared of space, and I guess I can sort of understand it. A lot can go wrong, but wouldn't it be nice to learn that there's just so much to explore? So much to see and wonder and love? Space can be a scary place, but it can equally be beautiful. It's where you are, after all.

I know you've heard it a lot, and I know this review doesn't say much about the game play, and that's because it really doesn't feel right to ruin the surprise. I urge you, if you haven't yet, don't hesitate to get this game. It's an experience I truly feel anyone can enjoy. I think I truly have come to gain an even greater appreciation of existence itself thanks to this. That sounds a bit dramatic, but honestly? It's the truth.

Thank you to everyone who worked on this game. I didn't ask for anything, and I could not have possibly asked for a more amazing experience.
