One of Bethesda's best launches in YEARS.

If you're a seasoned Fallout player, this will all be very familiar. In fact, I keep thinking to myself that Starfield is in the same universe as Fallout, only without the bombs having dropped.

Loud, beautiful cars. Amazing vistas. Great soundtrack. MEXICO!! <3 All while having 0 gameplay issues.

As a longtime Forza Horizon player, Playground Games did it again. This was a seamless release, well worth the Premium edition if you feel so inclined, and this will definitely be my main go-to game this winter.

My Score:
Gameplay: 5/5
Graphics: 5/5
Story: 5/5

Game Comparisons:
This game was genre-defining. The only comparison that I can't make it to Halo, and that only applies to the multiplayer. The single-player campaign has no comparison. Modern Warfare 2, for the first time ever, included a warning about violent content with the option to skip a level because of it. That's how ahead of it's time this game was. Of course, there are MANY games out now that are like this one, but this one definitely set the trend towards those gritty, fast-paced FPS games.

Review:
I still remember the first time I played this game with my friends on the Xbox 360 and the feeling I got getting owned on multiplayer all the time. I still remember the first time playing the campaign and playing through the “No Russian” mission, and how blown away I was that something like that would be included in a video game. A mission like that, especially with all the things going on in the world at that time, was WAY ahead of its time. It was revolutionary.

The campaign was something that defined the game for me. Being able to play through missions as different characters had me highly invested in the story, such as Captain Price and John “Soap” MacTavish. Captain Price is still a character being included in Call of Duty games even to this day. Playing through missions set in South America, Russia, the Middle East, and suburban America, the developers had you running missions all over the world.

The multiplayer was a game-changer. The fast-paced action, the Map Pack DLC that were released every few months and just the grind to get to level 10 Prestige. Many an hour were played with the homies online and it’s fun that I had that I’ll never forget. Yes, there were cheaters, as in all games, but it wasn’t bad enough where it’d keep you away from playing.

This is definitely a game to have in your library if you’re a fan of any Call of Duty game or just a casual gamer. This is the type of game that can define a decade and is a must-have.

This is officially a game that I've completed to 100% on Xbox and PC.

Pros:
  • The character and level designs
  • The story / single-player campaign
  • The genre-defining multi-payer
  • The secondary Spec-Ops gameplay
  • Great graphics for when the game was released
Cons:
  • Cheaters on multiplayer
  • The occasional randomness of the AI
  • Some Spec Ops missions required 2 players

My Score:
Gameplay: 4/5
Graphics: 5/5
Story: 5/5

Game Comparisons:
This felt like a mix between the Batman: Arkham series, the Dark Souls games, and the Uncharted games. The combat is definitely something that takes getting used to, but the difficulty behind it is what makes the learning curve of the game fun.

Review:
This game is a Star Wars game done right.

The story was compelling. The characters involved had me invested in the outcome. The mechanics of the game itself were easy to get the hang of, aside from the combat. There is a definite learning curve behind the combat, which just takes a little patience to get used to.

There were some definite moments where I had to step away from the game because of the combat, but I still kept coming back. The story itself was enough to keep me coming back. And there were some moments where I was left awestruck because of the beauty of some of the level designs.

This very much felt like a game that you could pick up quickly and start having fun. The learning curve is not steep at all, especially if you’re playing in Story Mode. But it was easy just to start up the game and continue from where I left off without having to recall what the controls are.

If you’re a Star Wars fan and you enjoy playing through a good story, you’ll thoroughly enjoy this game.

Ending Spoiler: WTFFFF!

Pros:
  • Great graphics + amazing level designs
  • Amazing story that keeps you engaged
  • Combat mechanics are FUN once you get the hang of it
  • Some great tie-in's to the main Star Wars storylines
  • The menu's and game is heavily optimized for PC (This is huge for me)
Cons:
  • Combat mechanics if you DON'T get the hang of it
  • No multiplayer to be had here

Game Comparisons:
This game was very much like Pharaoh/Cleopatra, Nebuchadnezzar, Sim City etc etc.

Review:
This is your typical city/resource management game, and I loved it. You'll love it too if you're into those types of RTS games.

You play as a miner/industrialist during the California Gold Rush, which started in 1849. You start off by completing 3 missions in one town and progress through 20 different towns, gradually unlocking different buildings and resources. There were definitely some towns that I had to start over but I was able to beat the main game's story mode within about 20 hours.

Like with all games, there are some minor quirks, like the Sheriff and Firehouse buildings having circular radiuses when the maps are rectangular. This made placement a bit difficult especially when trying to optimize space. At times, the missions did feel a bit repetitive but there were definitely some times that I had to restart the map, so it has it's difficulty.

The graphics were pretty basic but it didn't take anything away from the overall experience of playing the game. I recommend the game to anyone interested in a super quick puzzler RTS. Not really "puzzler", but you know what I mean.

This was amazing.

I definitely learned more than a few things but it was cool seeing it put into action through the game engine. I can't wait to play the game even more now.

My review: 4/5 stars.

Just Cause 3 has to be one of the best "shoot-'em-up" games ever made, hands down.

The physics in this game are some of the best and funniest in any of the top-ranked games currently available, and you'll also see some of the best explosions you'll see in any game.

PROS:
- Great physics
- Truly OPEN world gameplay
- In-game/In-world flexibility
- Awesome weapons and gadgest and cars
- Lots of side content that can be done without doing main story missions
- Plenty of DLC to keep you playing past the main story
- SQUIRREL SUIT! + eventually you get rocket booster :)

CONS:
- The story isn't the greatest, but it's still fun
- Weird glitch when opening the game where it won't open full screen (ALT+ENTER fixes issue)
- It can get to be pretty hectic when you're taking fire from the ground and air
- At times the world can seem TOO BIG

All-in-all, it's a great game and definitely worth your money. More so when you see it go on sale if you can get it on sale, but you won't get bored playing this game.

One of the best games I've ever played, hands down.

The first time I played any game from the Fallout series, was Fallout 3, which blew me away. I love that the worlds are so well thought out and the story is so interconnected to the player through his/her choices.

This game is on another level. The story for Fallout: New Vegas is one of the best for a game. Right from the beginning cut scene, it pulls me into the world and gets me to want to play endlessly. The envrionment in the game is amazing, the music makes the time go by quickly but the gameplay is something that willl just seem so familiar, especially if you're played Fallout 3.

I recommend this game, without hesitiation. This easily becomes a classic in my book, and no game collection is complete without it.
