Easily one of the most painful projects that Take Two has managed to completely destroy. It's absolutely insane that we're now in the middle of June and people are still essentially having to dig through LinkedIn posts of soon-to-be former employees to find out that this studio is toast, tossed away by corporate greed. To not even make an actual statement and give the slightest hint of what Take-Two actually plans to do with this project after almost 2 months is just pathetic.

This game has a hell of development cycle and had an extremely promising core to build from after launch. But now we'll probably never see that final product. Private Division was suppose to help elevate and help increase the scope of traditionally indie titles. Instead, they swallowed up and ruined one of the best indie titles ever made.

I was initially hesitant to try this game after hearing about the discourse surrounding it, but even after playing the other titles that this game is compared to, I'm extremely glad that I gave it a try.

If you're looking for the same level of humor and intensity as the other titles being talked about, this definitely won't have the same impact; but, I found that while GVH has a very different focus and atmosphere going on around it, this story still has a great amount of moments that range from adorable to heart wrenching. That said, I did feel that some of the relationships developed in this story didn't have enough time to be fully fleshed out. Overall, I found the story was perfectly fine for what it is, it just depends on the kind of story you want and how "raw" you're expecting the emotions to really get.

I will also say that the soundtrack is AMAZING. I don't tend to listen to this genre of music too much, but I've found myself listening to every song on repeat. Dabu did a fantastic job and it's hard to believe their only other works on Spotify are Dwarf Fortress and Winding Worlds. Brigette Naggar was also fantastic!

I know this review sounds like I'm just glazing the devs, but I feel that overall I'd probably give Goodbye Volcano High a 7.5/10. It's not perfect and I think the weakest aspect of this story is the dialogue and how the cast delivers a lot of her lines. I'm no expert on VA recording, but I think the pacing and emotion could use a lot of work in terms of how the characters act around each other, it just seemed very stiff, which is surprising considering they have some good cast members in this project such as Rengoku from Demon Slayer. I really wouldn't have known he was in this if I hadn't looked it up, he just sounds that different here.

To just end on the part that people can't help but to focus on... Yes, there's a lot of LGBTQ+ representation in this game. However, I pretty much never felt like it was just being thrust into my face and when moments DID pop up, I appreciated how the story handled it. A lot of it is more about the characters in this story just happening to be who they are. Hell, it's not even clear for a lot of characters if they even have ANY romantic feelings, let alone for any specific gender/people. It's just a part of who they are, which I think is a good way of normalizing such things.

I'm the type who tends to leave their game on when going to work and then jumping right back in afterwards, so don't be alarmed by the playtime.

That said, this is easily one of my favorite visual novels that I've gone through. The art style, characters, story and pretty much everything has this awesome charm that is just peak VN material. It's a perfect balance of fun and cute moments, harsh, angry bits and deep, emotional instances of sorrow that all comes together in just the right amounts. I'd highly recommend this to any VN fan that isn't looking for anything overtly sexual and I really hope the devs will put their other projects onto Steam as well!

EDIT: Okay okay I wasn't FULLY through the game at the time of writing this originally. I have now see all the game had to offer and my god. This really is one of if not the best VN stories I've ever seen. It's just a perfect buildup of emotions for every ending and the final, final ending is just the perfect cap on everything.

THis is a really tough review to write due to the current state of the game as I haven't really played a game with a situation quite like this.

Overall, the game itself is AMAZING. Great graphics, polished gameplay and the perfect aesthetic for a sci-fi action game combine for a completely refreshing title that any action game fan will love. This goes along with a multiplayer system that lets you play your own game and missions while still having a tangible, if extremely minor impact on a wider conflict that adds to the sense of accomplishment with every victory.

Essentially, this is easily one of the best games to come out this year and the devs seem more than capable of adding onto this great baseline.

My only problem is the same that essentially every single negative review will cover: The server issues. As of the writing of this review, the game is essentially unplayable during common peak hours due to server capacity issues. It's fairly clear the devs had entirely different expectations for this game's success as their core networking code has forced them to cap their player count at around 460,000 players as of 2/20. While it's insane (and impressive) that they are constantly hitting that cap, even basic player count management concepts are absent from this title right now. With a hard player cap and no way for the system to kick afk players, people are clearly sitting in their ships/lobby 24/7 so as to avoid re-entering a "queue" that actually just randomly decides who gets any newly opened slots. With this, an already bad waiting period is made even worse as slots are constantly filled with afk players.

That said, this problem is hopefully set to be improved over time (hopefully sooner rather than later) and once it is brought under control, this game is 100% worth the $40 their asking for. I can't imagine a single negative review on this game actually being about the quality of the title itself.

Truly one of the best colony sims on the market and essentially the inspiration for an entire sub-genre of "story-telling" sims. The base game is already great on its own, but the variety of mods expand on the concept to the point that you could play this a million times.

Note that this review is about the CURRENT state of the game on launch and is very likely to become Recommended in the future.

There is a lot of be excited about in this game and a fair amount of features that already differentiate it from other games of this style. The inclusion of in-depth VOIP that echoes and muffles based on your location and proximity to teammates is something that more devs should consider adding into their titles. The AI is also very promising, with its ability to move and adapt to your actions providing a good amount of challenge. Overall, the base of the game provides a lot of hope for the final product's quality.

However, there are certain mechanics that make actually playing the game almost unbearable at times. Primarily, the way the game handles leaning and aiming in general can make fighting in close quarters almost impossible. The system tries to determine what I assume it thinks is the most "realistic" way to aim in a situation, but it ends up simply having your character constantly spazzing out even if you're standing in a single spot. In a game where death can be around any corner and pop out at any second, this becomes a crucial, sometimes game breaking flaw.

On a similar note, the movement of the game, while understandably slow, seems to really take away from the teamwork aspect. There seems to be little point in clearing houses as team, as there isn't enough freedom of movement to let you effectively peer around your squad mates as you enter. Without this ability to actually look past teammates, you're essentially just doing a conga line and not actually contributing anything.

At least for me, these seemingly basic problems detract from a lot of the good from this game and needs to be addressed for the current product to be fully enjoyed.

Steam may say the current review-bombing is off-topic. I wholeheartedly disagree, as the in-game economy of War Thunder is the core of the entire game. Unless you're willing to shell out hundreds or are in the top 5% of players every single match, the current economy will make it impossible for you to progress past anything more than Tier-3 (mid-WWII tanks) without years of dedicated play.

Even if you get to higher tiers, they are plagued with people who bought premium tanks and people who will abandon matches after their first death. It's tough because I can't even blame such players since you are actively punished for continuing to play matches after you die. The repair costs just make it impossible if you're trying to accomplish anything with the Silver Lions currency.

It's a solid title that mixes roguelite and settlement management just enough to keep both aspects fun without overshadowing the other. The art style is also great which makes looking at a lot of the same things over and over a better experience.

While I would probably recommend this game for those who can run it , I kinda wonder how many people actually fit that description. The game is fun to play, especially if you enjoy Squad but want a WWII setting instead of modern combat. However, despite multiple years of development, I still find that this game struggles immensely to run well. Even with a computer that meets the Recommended Specs, the game suffers from constant framerate drops.

These drops tend to go away after a match or two, but that is about an hour into playing and requires me to not have anything else running that eats up even a tiny slice of my PC's resources. Squad has some issues like this as well, but I feel it is WAY worse for this game. Again, the actual gameplay is pretty good imo, it's at least as good as Hell Let Loose which I see as its closest competition. Unfortunately, the good gameplay can only be experienced if you have hardware far surpassing what the devs even recommend.

I really really want to enjoy this game but the combat and the AI are probably some of the worst I have ever seen. I was under the impression they had fixed those issues but my latest experience has proven otherwise.

In what I assumed would be a simple battle with some bandits and a few soldier became a horrible slog as I was required to take out multiple archers on my own on a narrow walkway. May not sound so bad but with this game's system, it is incredibly easy to either get stuck on any nook and cranny or to simply fall off the path all together. If you try to lure the archers towards your friendlies, they will literally sit there and let themselves get shttps://gtm.you1.cn/storesteam/app/379430/Kingdom_Come_Deliverance/#hot rather than defend themselves because the game glitched and never told them to attack.

The world outside of combat is great and interesting but the combat just ruins it all for me.
