Why haven't I been modding?
So, you might be wondering why I've effectively stopped modding, apart from an occasional project that I usually don't release. Well, the reasons for that are two-fold.

First off, my work has been treated largely as community property. Over the years, there have been dozens of reuploads of my projects with no credit, even so far as fairly popular mods utilizing my older work and the majority of an entire category on Gamebanana containing my work, all with no credit.

The worst of it, however, was committed by a fairly major developer. Do you recall when Steel Wool Studios was caught utilizing fan art in promotional material and got dragged through the mud for it? It just so happens that Crowbar Collective did the same thing with an image I made, with notably less interest. I made a friendly comment hoping they might at least acknowledge the source of the image, but they did no such thing.

The second reason is, simply, monetary. Even with support links in plain view, only the projects I've released on Nexus for Fallout have made me any money. Quite simply, even if I still felt like modding, I just can't afford to spend the time.

My current feelings on Valve

For years Valve has left their own games abandoned and broken. It has recently been revealed that they have, similarly to Rockstar and TakeTwo, begun attacking the community developers attempting to breathe continued life into these games. Read more here. [tf2classic.com]

Additionally, they have recently taken action against Workshop downloader services, indirectly harming alternative marketplace (e.g. Gog) copies of games by limiting a large portion of functionality. Read more here.

As of this month (December 2022), Valve has announced the removal of -no-browser , a command-line option that disables Chromium. I initially learned about this option due to a severe memory leak I encountered in CEF and reported. This report went ignored, and the issue was rolled into the release about two months later. I didn't use Steam at all for months because of this issue (and haven't used it as much since), and finally regained some use before the issue was fixed due to the -no-browser switch. Since then, using the switch has allowed me to utilize Steam with Playnite and EA games more effectively, and to use actual browsers on another monitor while developing for something such as G-Mod more effectively. The removal of this option not only decreases usability for me, but also removes my recourse should they screw up their CEF implementation again.

These events have eroded my trust in Valve and led me to largely move away from Steam. I'm here less often, generally only running the client for updates, and otherwise letting Playnite handle game launching. If you don't get a timely/any response, this is why.
