What I was originally expecting to be something akin to David Lynch's Blue Velvet ended up being something so much more visceral than I had ever imagined. This game tells a very haunting psychological horror story that I don't even want to bother explaining for the sake of spoiling it for someone who wishes to play it: needless to say, Decarnation definitely delivered on a cerebral experience that reached right into my chest cavity and tore my heart out, threw it on the ground a few times, picked it up, dusted it off, and then attempted to put it back in its place. Mechanically it dragged in a few places, and sometimes the grueling nature of the story itself made me question how much further I could go, but ultimately I needed to see this journey out to its end, and I'm so glad I did. One of the better pixel adventures I've played in recent past.
