Echo of the Eye is very much recommended to those who loved the base game. It has many of the same elements that made Outer Wilds so great: the exploration, a bit of fear which you can pretty much get over once you've (inevitably) done it a few times with a satisfying ending.

I came into this DLC blind, thinking it would be a continuation of the story, however that is not the case. If you are looking for something that follows up on Outer Wilds' story, you should probably adjust your expectations on this. The dlc is more like an extension of the existing story, which ties itself in pretty well without you having to question on how this or why that. At least that's how I found it.

Overall, like the base game, try going into it completely blind. I foolishly watched the trailer since I loved Outer Wilds so much, but even then it did really did not spoil me whatsoever. It's got great environment and story building, music is top notch and I loved that they played with a new method of telling you, the Hearthian, a story.

Super fun rogue-lite with an unfolding story as you progress (or try to progress) through the game. Each death comes with new dialogue with characters old and new. The game has so much content that it'll take a long time to get stale.

The combat is smooth and satisfying. It can only get better with the boons you take and experiment with.

There are many items found throughout each playthrough that you can use to permanently change certain things in the game, as well as helping you create more dialogue to uncover more lore and backstories of certain characters.

This game is a must buy and is on lots of people's GOTY list, mine included.

A friend recommended that I play this game completely blind. I didn't even watch the trailers for it.
After an hour or two of confusion and anxiety, I finally got a handle of the game and was able to confidently explore the game with a newfound desire to follow the story that was constantly unfolding.

The music is fantastic, I ended up getting the album on my spotify.
The environments range from beautiful to haunting.
The sounds are some of the best I've had the pleasure to listening to. The sounds in the game is what initially caused me to be to anxious/afraid to explore, but it ended up being one of the things I will remember the most of the game.

Go into the game with as little information as you can, the pay off is absolutely worth it.

The graphics are fantastic, the music is as amazing as the first game. Some of the skills you get are incredibly satisfying to use, like they have weight to them when you hit your target(s). The new characters introduced into the game are incredibly charming and fun. It has everything that was great about the first game and adds on to it.

Throughout my playthrough I did experience 2 crashes, however one of them may have been on my end. There was also one time where the character model bugged out, but from personal experience I received little to no bugs throughout the game.

Absolutely recommended!

Early Access Review
Simple straight forward game. Adjustable dungeon lengths make it great for people who want a quick game. Currently only past the first area, but the cards gained are really nice; you actually have choices rather than "ideal" cards to use. Some cards are straight up damage, some are utility, others are just fun.

Music is wonderful, voicework is great, and talking to the villagers is pleasant instead of tedious.
