This was, for a lack of better terms, kinda sloppy. Having not touched the mercenaries stuff yet, I can say that this isn't really worth looking at unless for the other things included. The story content given was a nice thing to have, but without giving any spoilers, I felt it could of been held onto for the next game in the series. It's a fun story, and introduced a new mechanic to the game that turned the forced 3rd person perspective into an enjoyable one, but really made some of the controls a bit clunky and had it's fair share of unintentional deaths. I may add to this when, and if, I play the mercenaries stuff, but I'm not much for the arcade style content offered anymore after grinding out RE5 scores back in ye olden times.

STORY SPOILERS BELOW YOU'VE BEEN WARNED!

Reusing the existing maps and characters defiantly made this feel like pointless content to just sell the other inclusions to the DLC. The story told could of been much shorter, and explained in another way somewhere else if needed. The gimmicks of the areas were directly copied from the main story with slight variations to make them "unique" The Castle? Collect three masks to move on while avoiding an unkillable enemy until you're at the end. Sound familiar? Kill the three sisters, while avoiding the unkillable Lady Dimitrescu until the end. Each are requiring you to go for a certain target first and formost, complete the puzzle, collect your prize, move onto the next. Doll house? Lets take all of your weapons away and force you to solve a creepy puzzle. Granted, the similarities end there. This section was drastically different from the main game's doll house and offered a bit more challenge which was nice. The ending after finishing the doll house felt extremely rushed and just there to show off the cool new thing that Capcom was able to shove into their game. Overall, the Story felt boring and offered nothing much to the existing story, plus with the post final boss ending sequence, it really just made me toss my controller down on my desk, cross my arms, and just feel disappointing that I spent 3ish hours on what could of been considered a glorified tech demo inside of the RE Engine. The character development felt like it was going to be post main game content when it wasn't. This DLC reminds me of RE5's Lost in Nightmares and Desperate Escape DLC's for their retelling of events that happened outside the main story plot. Those DLC's were open about what they set out to accomplish. Nightmares, You go and fight Wesker at the Spencer Estate, and Escape shows how Josh and Jill got to Chris and Sheva inside the volcano. This DLC? Just character building that wasn't really hinted at other then one line maybe??

Overall, this DLC didn't vibe with me like I had wished it would. I was hoping for more story from the main games ending scenes, but we didn't get that. I won't go too into detail as to what we got other then what was posted above. This is defiantly a wait for sale unless you want the Third Person mode and Mercenaries Content
