Awesome tool. I've been using it for several years now and once you get over the initial hurdles of using it (as every comparable package has as well), it's one of the most powerful programs around. While not every feature it has is currently world-class - particularly in terms of performance - it's consistently been an amazingly productive and efficient tool for me to work with.

Updates are consistently bringing fantastic new features and performance improvements, bugs are taken seriously & fixed without BF seeming to live in their own separate dimension (as long as you are sure to actually use the bug tracker, not post on some random forum).

I would not (and do not) hesitate to recommend Blender to anyone looking to seriously work with 3D. I do urge new users to poke around the user preferences, though, and to check out CGCookie's intro to blender before getting started. Some of the included addons are very useful (especially for the experience of new users) - Pie Menus, Dynamic Spacebar Menu and LoopTools are the ones I always make sure to enable. If you use a laptop, the "emulate 3 button mouse" and "emulate numpad" options and changing select to left click are very useful.

If you ever thought simcity-type games were fun then you should buy this immediately. This game is fantastic.
