[Note that this version of RuneScape is commonly referred to as "RuneScape 3". It's the most modern version of it. The Runescape you might remember from the 2000's is called "Old School RuneScape" and can be downloaded on the Jagex website. OSRS is not on Steam (yet!) ]
A game long held as the best free(ish) MMO, It's... not recommended if you hate grind or pointing-and-clicking. This game is all about those.
If you love these in a video game though... go nuts! It certainly shows its retro-ness, but it's perfect for those kinda people.

A fighting game with a small roster and inspired by My Little Pony (it actually was a fangame at some point!), this game is easy-ish to pick up but certainly hard to master. The commands aren't too complicated either, and it is a 4-button game where there is Light, Medium, and Heavy buttons as well as a Magic button, which is sort of like a character's special move that uses a seperate meter from the Super commands.
There is also a Story Mode where you can play through Arizona (the cow)'s story in its entirety, as of writing. It is neat and worth trying out this game entirely, but the story is like... the meat of it, and if i remember correctly it's only growing.

A platform fighting game not unlike it's inspiration, Super Smash Bros. Melee. Even despite the abundance of furries (and c'mon now, what are they even doing now that's embarrassing these days?), this game a lot of technical depth and nuance to put itself among the ranks of several other fighting games, indie or company.
...Plus, there is workshop support! It's kinda like a Smash Bros. MUGEN, almost... almost.

An art program designed towards pixel artists/animators, this lightweight tool is a high recommendation for those into pixel art, and a medium recommendation for those who liked MS Paint or the binary brush in Paint Tool SAI.
Do be warned though, because it is a lightweight program, it might slow down at high-resolution images around 1000x1000px or more. I have not seen a crash at even 10000x10000px but have had extreme slowdown at that size, especially when zoomed out to see the entire image.

A solid mix between Minecraft, Terraria, and a bit of its own theming, this slight gem of a game has unfortunately some controversy under it as of lately, involving unpaid workers. Do buy it when it's on sale, though, and if you don't mind or can get past that fact it's a good action RPG with sandbox elements. Or at least, that's how I'd describe it.
