A promising start to hopefully more fresh (and free) content for the Half-Life universe. Worked fine on Linux via Proton.

This is a prime example of how a remaster should be done. It looks and sounds beautiful. The performance is good. And even though it's a Microsoft game it runs perfectly fine on Linux with proton. I also appreciate the continued support which gives us new civilizations and campaigns by adding new DLCs.

A wonderfully executed remake of one of the best games ever. The graphics look stunning and the new soundtrack fits perfectly. The native linux version is also highly appreciated.
If you like the original Half-Life then I highly recommend to revisit Black Mesa with this massively overhauled and updated version.

CS:GO Review
In a multiplayer game like this there are obviously negative aspects like cheating/griefing which are kinda unavoidable while playing on public servers.

Otherwise there are mostly positive aspects to mention:
+ Native linux version for the client
+ Fully administrable dedicated server available
+ Lots of available custom content (maps) due to workshop integration
+ Several different game modes (Deathmatch, Competitive 5v5, Scrimmage 5v5, Casual 10v10, Wingman 2v2, Arms Race, Demolition, Danger Zone)
+ Additional game modes during "Operations" (temporary DLC content) (Flying Scoutsman, Co-op Strike, Guardian)

Since it became Free to Play it's easy the check it out for yourself.

Got this nice little gem recommended by Steam. Otherwise I probably would've missed it which would've been a shame. A "short in playtime" but "high in quality" Mod which brings back the nostalgia of the Half-Life series. The music from HL2 never gets old and shooting combine soldiers, zombies and headcrabs is always fun. Highly recommended for anyone who loves the HL series.

It isn't a flawless experience but overall this game has a lot more going on on the positive side of things.
You have plenty of stuff to do with 6 playable characters with different abilities. In combination with the high amount of different weapons and other gear this allows for various different playstyles. Then there are lots of missions and farmable bosses (some of them are a pain in the ass though...especially when playing solo). So overall you get a lot of entertainment value for your money spent. And it has a native linux version which is a bit behind in performance compared to windows but it's good enough to give you an enjoyable experience.

On the downside we have lazy mapping and/or a buggy engine. Getting stuck on and in stuff can get annoying and also loot falling through the ground isn't fun in a loot heavy shooter like this.

What an amazing game this is. It was my 2nd and 3rd playthroughs and doing some of the achievements which made me realize how good it really is. The atmosphere while exploring Sevastopol is outstanding.

The game has aged surprisingly well. The graphics are still looking phantastic imho. Although the graphics department is responsible for the only complaint I have. The ingame anti-aliasing is pretty much useless. On windows you can fix this by using the "Alias Isolation" Mod though. This Mod removes all of the jaggies and thus provides a wonderful visual experience.
Also nice to see that it's available on linux although I don't know if a proper aliasing fix is available there aswell.

Would love to see an AI2...but unfortunately it looks like it won't happen :(

No complaints from my side about this remastered version. Graphics are slightly better but the biggest improvement is that it seems to be very stable compared to the 32bit version. Not a single crash in over 100hrs of playtime. This was a very frustrating issue in the standard version.

Atmosphere, graphics, sound, story and gameplay fit very well together here. I didn't encounter any bugs and the DLC is a good addition (not some overpriced garbage like in so many other games). And it runs fine on linux aswell.
So overall a perfect game in my opinion. *Thumbs Up*
