Honestly, if you don't, I'm not sure why you're reading this in the first place. That being said, it is extremely fun in my opinion; history is already an interesting subject to me, and while this game is exactly that, a game, it is actually rather educational to a certain level.

Now to the good stuff, I doubt you looked at this game for the history aspect alone. It has many options that allow it to conform to the user, the ones I specifically use are things in the game itself, such as display, that make it easier for people who aren't hardcore into strategy type games, or those who are new to Sid Meier's games, as I was when I first got it. It isn't typically a game for those who aren't the type to sit at a game for a decent length of time (about an hour and longer) as most of the substantial parts of obtaining a victory take time, and while they do have their points where things are simply being set up rather than followed through with, they also have their points that only a strategy gamer could truly enjoy to their full extent, and will consume a bit of your time once launched. However, this game is also good for someone to get into strategy gaming, as it is, again, very user friendly. It may take some time to get to learn how to play it and get to know the way the basics work, but once you do it is a lot of fun to play.

Overall, I highly recommend this game to anyone looking for any of the above mentioned features; history, strategy, and a way to learn about strategy gaming. I haven't played the other games of this kind, meaning the other Civilizations or any of Sid Meier's other franchises, so I would also have to recommend that whoever decides to read this looks at those as well before deciding on any one game.
