It's sold at an aggressive price but it's a great game and it provides A LOT more than other games sold at 20€.
A must for any narrative games lover.

The Crimson Diamond is a true "love letter" to The Colonel's Bequest. The game offers a nostalgic experience reminiscent of old-school text parser adventures. It blends the simplicity and charm of early adventure games with modern sensibilities, such as a more forgiving approach to player mistakes compared to its inspirations. The game requires you to explore environments, gather clues, and solve puzzles by typing commands, similar to how text parsers functioned in classic Sierra games. However, it doesn't punish the player as harshly for every misstep, making it more accessible while still maintaining the feel of the originals.
The parser, while generally effective, occasionally led me to seek hints while solving a puzzle, only to realize that I was on the right track all along but needed to phrase the command slightly differently. However, this is exactly the kind of challenge that characterized those classic games, and in the end, I have to admit that this quirk might very well be part of the nostalgic experience for me.
The adventure begins with two women deeply immersed in their passions, whether it's studying birds or mineralogy. This instantly evokes memories of books and films from a few decades ago, where adventures were driven by characters fueled by their great passions, be it archaeology (“Alessandretta, of course!”), science (“Great scott!”), or paleontology (“They’re moving in herds”). I particularly loved the game because the protagonist shares knowledge about mineralogy, genuinely teaching something valuable. And she does so in a way that makes the information memorable, as it is woven into the gameplay and essential for progressing in the game. The narrative is incredibly enjoyable.
Guiding us through this adventure is a third woman, Julia Minamata, who is driven by her passion as well (developing video games ofc). She tells a story that is both classic and new, filled with intriguing ideas and emotions. I also found her special tribute to Roberta Williams at the end of the game to be very touching. In the final credits, the creator thanks the player with a heartfelt "thank you for playing," and I know for sure that she truly means it.
In the end, I'm deeply grateful that there are still people driven by passion, who find joy in discovery and in sharing it with others. I sincerely hope that there will be more opportunities for Julia to explore and marvel alongside all of us.

I'm really looking forward for this.
I loved the 80s/90s Sierra vibe the game transmits, and it reminds you of the good old days.
The game is still in development and it can be seen by some placeholder graphics,
especially in the intro or by the current state of the soundtrack.
Anyway, there are also some pieces of art that are very well-made
and give you a clear idea of the final quality of the game, which is terrific.
I really enjoyed this first chapter. Good Job Julia Minamata!

Oh, the game is about 2 hours of gameplay - the Steam counter anyway says I played just 0.2 hours because I had to execute the game from its folder, because I had some problems running it directly from Steam.

If you expect a simple game that takes you by the hand and guides you through each objective like a kid then.. this game is not for you. This is an old-school complex game for people that like to read, analyse problems and solve puzzles. Plus it's free so what are you waiting fooor?

Buy it, for the sake of god!!

I think you could discard every other endless runner.
This one has charisma and a cool style, a gameplay providing a real challenge (like good old games)
and an awesome soundtrack, that could be considered itself like a standalone product
that worths the full price.
