I got this in a humble bundle sale so please take that into account when I say this was worth my money. It's really hard to recommend this game. On one hand the game itself is great, but this game was designed with multiplayer heavy in mind. With the global average number of players being 400+ on a weekend it's really hard to find a match where you won't lag (unless you live in the US) . However what battleborn's community lacks in numbers they make it up for being just one of the most kickass communities out there. PVE battles are relatively decent with 8 missions total (9 if you count the prologue) but hardly makes the game stand out on it's own. Note that all characters are not available from the start and that many will be unlocked through progression. All in all I recommend getting this game if you can get it under 50 USD.
