Vibrant world, robust mechanics, and an OST with a strong case for the best I've ever heard.

Starbound captures better than any game I've played the grandeur and freedom of exploring space. A planet can be calm and serene, brimming with life, or intimidatingly inhospitable; each is a little different, and exploring them never gets old.

Fans of lore and stories will enjoy the thought put into each NPC race, fans of exploration will enjoy the different planet types and structures, fans of collecting will enjoy breaking and shelving everything in sight. There's farming, monster collecting (think pokemon), terraforming, space mech piloting, instrument playing, and so much more.

Mods (while some have not kept up with updates and are deprecated) can tweak gameplay or entirely rework the game's mechanics.

If the game looks appealing and you're worried about complaints--don't be. There's a mod for almost any problem you might have. Inventory too small? Mod for that. Crew experience underwhelming? Mod for that. Clothing system restrictive? Mod for that. Block/furniture recipes too hard to collect? Mod for that. You get my point.
I think any real complaint would boil down to the ethics of the developer. Chucklefish has been embroiled in a pretty shady exploitation scandal regarding the development of this game. I can't tell you how to rationalize that one, but I will say that this is one of my favorite games ever, and I don't throw that distinction around.

The one thing that brings me back over and over to Starbound over other games is the atmosphere it creates. No other game captures the feeling of space quite like Starbound. Space, and the planets you discover in it, can feel peaceful and secluded (the soundtrack does wonders in this department).

Early Access Review
How this game has even one good review is beyond me. If this is the best backrooms game, I don't want to TOUCH the others.

I don't leave many reviews on Steam, but some civic drive within me activated when i saw that this absolute monster stinker of a 'game' has 90% approval on Steam.

There is not a single aspect of this game that I could commend. It is truly a dumpster fire bred with rotten spaghetti code. Absolute shovelware.

The puzzles provide no guidance but require stupid solutions, the 'entities' are not fun to play around (they each have a novel characteristic, but any interest wears off after the first encounter). One entity is literally a JPG of the smile dog copypasta that slides toward you. Wow, how exciting! I didn't get to see them all, but I wasn't impressed by any of them.

The level design is frustrating. It's literally a maze.
"Well, the backrooms are like a maze!1"
No. This is not fun in any way. It's just a pain in the ass.

Co-op is passable at best and difficult at worst. All players need to meet in certain areas to progress, but where these areas are is not made explicit. Finding items to share among a full lobby is tiring, and player collision means you will often bump and block each other in the tight spaces you are required to squeeze into.

The game's mechanics are inconvenient, the monster AI is stupid at best, and the pacing is terrible. I could go on, but there is no point. Just make sure to clock less than 2 hours so you can refund this bastard shadow of whatever entertainment used to be.

cool fishing simulator that can also function as a dungeon crawler, should you feel so inclined.

Simple and short, but really gets your adrenaline pumping.

Can't say why, but there are some moments that really surprised me and gave me a jolt (but not in a 'cheap jump-scare' way).
Although the sub controls/map felt tacky at first, by the end of my play-through, I was fully invested and didn't think twice about them. Try it out!

CS:GO Review
CS:GO
This game is really fun, I've never enjoyed anything as much as a good competitive match of CS:GO with some opponents and teammates who control their tempers and morals, all while having fun themselves.
The game that turns the decent part of you into a ravaging beast capable of dishing out severe verbal attacks that would normally cause your enemies to recoil in aghast at what terrifying words leapt from your furious fingers as they type away another assault.
Unless you're winning.
Then your stop's next on the hate train.
But maybe that's why it's so fun.
10/10 would play again

I've been playing Warframe for years. I don't feel like there is much reason to write a long review, when the points to be made are clear. The game is free: not just free-to-play, free. Nothing (beyond some cosmetic items) is locked behind a pay wall. The gameplay is very, very engaging. The movement, weapon, ability, and other systems have all been constantly refined to near perfection over the years this game has been out. Lastly, the game is always changing. Updates are frequent, and a glance at the change in content since the game became public and the content now (the game is almost completely different) proves as much. The developers, DE, are obviously committed to providing a great experience to old and new players alike, whether they want to collect gear and achievements, want to dive deep into the game world's lore, or want to just kick some enemy ass.
