This game brings me so much joy. Every aspect of this game shows the loving care that was put into it by the amazing creator(s). Every time I turn around in Portia I find some new little detail that makes the world feel that little bit more real, more vibrant, than before. I love everything about this glorious game!

Too much emphasis on player reflexes, a common flaw in this genre. Oh the irony to make DARK SOULS of all games an example of a game that does something that makes a game EASIER... Unpredictable enemies and being expected to respond to attacks with the speedy reflexes of a squirrel on three cases of monster energy does not an enjoyable game make. Also, fighting computer opponents who have A: all of your abilities, B: superhuman reflexes, C: the ability to break any of your combos, and D: the endurance to resist having ANY more they make interrupted is ridiculous and frustrating. This is where Dark Souls does it better, powerful bosses, Check, but bosses that do something EVERYTHING EVER does before attacking, it readies itself, giving a momentary clue to the player it is time to dodge, this game on the other hand does not even have a functional dodge mechanic.

All of that said this is a very enjoyable game with a lot of love put into the characters and story. Excellent storytelling, and while it seems at times cliche, the word Yakuza is a cliche by itself to western audiences, literally, if an American pictures the idea of a Yakuza Kazama Kiryu is basically the exact image that pops into their mind, stony faced asian man in a suit with loads of tattoos, martial arts skills surpassing the rational and a bizarre code of honor that has little to do with the realities of Organized Crime. But there is so much of this story that to me feels like the storytellers when above and beyond to avoid some of the worst Yakuza tropes while making an interesting game set almost entirely within a five block radius of a certain tower in Downtown Tokyo. To fit so much into such a tiny world is truly an amazing feat.

I love video games and am one of those lovely folks who view video games as art, designers as artists, and the storytelling itself as a sacred practice utilized to share ideas and concepts since as long as there has been language. The storytelling in this game is nearly nonexistent, and the tiny bit of storytelling this game attempts has all of the class of a drunken hobo urinating in your gas tank, all the subtlety of trying to swat flies with a spiked sledge hammer, and is 120% COMPLETELY ON RAILS. I can run anywhere in the game I want but the only way to avoid the horribly written scenes where the enemy magically drugs you while you are flying 5000 feet above the ground and somehow you are magically whisked away to their base by the power of some ridiculous magical drug, where you get to be put through the wringer with huge sections of the game where you have to perform tasks while someone you want to kill with every fiber of your being spouts ridiculous nonsense you have ZERO ability to resist in any way or alter the outcome. If this was a tabletop game I would have literally punched out the GM and pissed on them for railroading players into a painfully stupid section where your strong willed and intelligent character is powerless to do ANYTHING whatsoever to alter their situation in ANY WAY AT ALL! Stupid storytelling is stupid and an insult to a form of art I love very much.

This game would be fun if the drones were not COMPLETELY BROKEN. I find it truly maddening, and I am apparently not the only one if the Steam Community is anything to go by, that the drones seem to have a serious case of the stupid. I have lost ENTIRE PLAY THROUGH AFTER ENTIRE PLAY THROUGH because despite having all the materials I need to make repairs, my drones ABJECTLY REFUSE to repair buildings with the resources sitting RIGHT NEXT TO THE BUILDING! Seriously, stop making DLC and ACTUALLY FIX YOUR GAME. I am so tired of this EA ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ where the game is so poorly designed it is nearly unplayable but we have several fine DLC options for you...

This is one of those games where the player is expected to be a brilliant commander and strike with inhuman precision and be able to lead shots without assistance, while up against AI who on MEDIUM can perfectly lead EVERY SHOT EVERY TIME. The result is an unpleasant to the point of being painful experience of being bested repeatedly because I have next to no chance of actually being able to keep pace with the AI in damage even with more Railguns than the opponent. Someone needs to make the AI on this stupider, you made it WAY too smart and this gives a cheating level advantage to the AI because it can do things humans cannot.

Quite honestly for the first 60 hours or so I thought this was a really fun game. Now I am on the Bridge to Barad Dur fighting Isildor and I realized something that makes me want to literally punch the Developer responsible for such a terrible decision right in the nose, though more metaphorically than literally. I cannot beat Isildor because my character will break focus on a chain of attacks on Isildor in order to attack my allies who are trying to fight Isildor with me. LITERALLY one of my top ten WORST game design decisions I have ever seen. This is the kind of poor game design that ruins an otherwise excellent game. It is ENTIRELY unreasonable for me to be COMPLETELY unable to keep my character from breaking focus to attack an ally he is fighting beside because they are marginally closer than the enemy. The way he is designed Talion is an idiot with less focus than an ADHD squirrel on cocaine. THIS NEEDS TO BE FIXED, TERRIBLE GAME DESIGN. SERIOUSLY cannot even counter without Talion attacking an ally instead of the Naz'Ghul right in front of him.

ALSO, those terribly inane and repetitive mini cutscenes at the start of the Celebrimbor historical missions and the TERRIBLE stupid and repetitive chatter I get EVERY time an Orc captain spots me, sometimes 5 or more times from the same Orc in the same Battle, and there isn't even an option to turn that terrible nonsense off anywhere in the options. I REALLY do not want to hear the Orc make more stupid threats he will never be able to fulfill for the second or even third time in the same F*ing combat. I am want to never listen to an Uruk prattle on about how he is going to kill me ever again, I could be using that time to KILL HIM, I REALLY hate these kinds of conceited game design choices where the game is designed like you really think players will enjoy these little moments of babbling idiocy.

Edit: I still agree with my statements above, but having finally gotten to the endgame of the first campaign I have to admit I do enjoy the majority of this game, however I still feel it has a long way to go before being a 5 star title.

Sweet merciful heavens has this game been eating up my time. Truly one of my favorite games, I would recommend for anyone who likes "Park Builder" type games and / or Jurassic Park/World. Really excellent and a lot of elements remind me of a Jurassic Park sim from a much earlier era and it makes me wonder if they got the rights to the older game and used the assets or if they perhaps use the same or some of the same design team(s) from the older game. Truly hoping that more will come out for this game with the upcoming release of Jurassic World Dominion.

I picked up a copy of this game on Humble Bundle and I have been pleasantly surprised at just how enjoyable this game is. An excellent Tactical Strategy game with some moderate RPG elements and an excellent story. I give this game the Able Autistic Seal of Approval, which is my personal recommendation as an autistic gamer to try this excellent game.

Beautiful game, I love the art style, and the difficulty isn't too bad, though I wish they had more difficulty options for players who want a more casual style dungeon building experience.

This reveiw isn't about the gameplay, it is about the developer.

Will not allow me to play it because I don't want to give them a huge ammount of personal information. I rate this game a total zero. I find it very irritating that I pay for a game and the 'owners' of the game demand personal information to unlock the game.

ENTIRELY TERRIBLE!
