Early Access Review
Hands down best sandbox multiplayer survival game ever. Ever evolving, it keeps getting better and better.

Plus, even more fun with friends.

Originally released in 2011 - the Special Edition has reminded everyone what a fantastic game this still is. Calling this game a free time killer is a huge understatement.

State of Decay is a GTA-esque zombie survival game. You play as a group of survivors who must search for supplies and safe-houses while the main storyline unfolds.

Even though it’s another zombie game, this one does a whole lot of things right. The story is almost generic but game play is quite enjoyable and after a while you really care for your crew. It is devastating to lose a character after working so hard to level up his/her skills. And dead means dead people. No going back to reload saves here.

There are several RPG elements, not only for your characters but for upgrading your base as well. The game also added a touch of realism by having people get tired which temporarily gives them a greater and greater stamina penalty until they rest.

The above being said, the game does have a large number of bugs still present, from clipping, to map glitches, to even crashing every now and then. Also, this game BEGS to be co-op. It would have been fantastic to go out and scavenge supplies and run over zombies with friends. Sadly, the devs have stated that it would take too much to add co-op to the game at this point. Huge missed opportunity there.

Issues and all, there is no buyer’s remorse. I still had (And currently am having) a ton of fun playing this game. And that’s the important part!

Reminiscent of text based games from long ago, Long Live the Queen is a very entertaining strategy game.

You control the heir to the throne before coming of age and game-play consists of choosing which skills to develop before your coronation next year. Many different events will happen as time progresses and depending on what skills you chose to focus on, you will either open up new story paths or in some cases even end up dead. There are many different ways to die, some very unexpected.

Replay value comes from going back and trying to see the different endings (or the different ways to die – yep, I’m still working on that achievement), or even the different story options. You can save any time you want and the game also includes an auto-save so you can go back some to try different strategies. Many times though you will want to start over again fresh, picking different skills just to see what happens.

If you prefer action based or shooter type games, look elsewhere. If you like anime style artwork and unforgiving strategy you will not be disappointed.

I have never read a Sherlock Holmes novel, so I can't really tell you if this game sticks close to its source material. Fortunately the only thing you need to know before playing is that Mr. Holmes is some kind of old timey super detective (And i'm pretty sure we have all deduced at least that much by now).

This game was actually a lot of fun. My favorite part was the "deduction tables", where you use the gathered clues to put two and two together and you try to solve the crime. The puzzles were also fun for the most part. I say for the most part, because there are a couple that made me smash the keyboard over my head once or twice. Seriously, If you are a masochist like me, who doesnt like to use walkthru's, you will find some of the puzzles super difficult. But hey, that's also part of the fun.

I found the story to be very well written. The twist that comes near the end was unexpected and really made me want to finish the game to see how it all plays out.

This game was a surprise for me. The controls feel kind of wonky at first since you are controlling both brothers simultaniously. Once you get used to it though it actually turns quite intuitive and fun. The devs came up with a lot of creative and new ways to use the control scheme in puzzles and navigation.

Very satisfying gameplay.

Great storytelling.

The only con I can give this game is the length. Other than that, this is an excellent title.

A steal if you buy it on sale.

When first playing Contagion, I thought to myself, "Oh a slower left 4 dead". And while that might be true, Contagion is also a lot more.

The game is still in "Early Access Beta", and so far it is shaping up to be quite promising. My favorite mode is "Escape". You need to work with your team mates, watch each other's backs, and... escape. The slow pacing adds to the sense of dread and paranoia that will hit you while you scavange for a few more bullets and try to find the way out. The smart phone your character carries provides objective updates and on some modes a map and GPS directions.

Reaching the end and escaping is highly satisfying after the methodical gameplay and teamwork you need to use to get there. Once more maps are added it will only improve this great game even more.

This game is well worth the price of entry and a steal if you can get it on sale.

Fun game that will help brush up on your typing skills.

It has a very campy design and B movie/grindhouse vibe.

Also includes the regular Hous of the Dead so you don't really have to type if you don't want to LOL...

The over the top story & characters don't detract in any way from this enjoyable game.

4 out of 5 severed heads.

Great game that is far too short. Some replayablility is added if you are an achievement hunter or if you are obssesive compulsive (Same thing I guess).

Very funny writing and the just enough plot twists to keep you engaged until the end.

Still, too short.
