Despite its short comings the story was definitely a hard one to put down, it's style is just the type that makes you feel like you have to know what's coming next I know what you mean about the other female branch storys coming off as very secondary "add-ins" compared to the true route. I'm glad I happened to save Haru's route for last because the other endings just don't compare to the "epicness". (My 2nd fave route was Miwa's: it managed to make me cry, the other two really didn't do much for me.)
So I'm guessing Eiichi won you over, too? He was such a piece of cr@p in the beginning, not gonna lie. LOL
