-Short, first time experience review (2 hours played)-

I'll be going through a few quick things I've experienced this far into the game. Both some positive and negative ones.

-------Positive-------

-On the positive side I find the game very charming to it's current surrounding environments. There's a lot of different kind of places in this huge world to explore. Making it interesting to see where and how communities will grow up along the world later on in the long run.

-I haven't progressed too much with the skill system this far. But I see that reaching different professions will take a good while and a lot of time spent on each skill. An interesting way to go about the development of your character.

-Sadly enough I haven't manage to get much further with the game to experience and learn about other positive things, and I'll tell ya why.

-------Negative-------

-Oh boy, here we got a few negative things to worry about. First off, I see that the developers wants the players to figure out pretty much.. everything through their first hour into the game. And yes I know there's a few guides to read to help ya out. But even the help of the guides can still make things seem confusing to understand. Especially when you wanna start out right away. There's no simple way to indicate what you exactly have to do to start making that.. that.. that and that. You get my drill. Once you start experimenting, you eventually start to understand how things works. Tho it's not an easy guess at first and can become a little frustrating for some.

-I found myself at the end of my first game session very frustrated and somewhat disappointed. Throughout my session I found myself constantly being attacked by invisible creatures. Both under day and night time. Most of the time I heard skeleton rumbling noises approaching and then the situation would proceed with me losing tons of health, one hit at the time. Forcing me to leave my current settlement... forever. I experienced this on the EU server and from the little I read in the discussion thread not long after the end of my game session, other people had experienced the same problem. It's a very huge issue that must be dealt with immediately! The game is practically unplayable at this time. As you can't see or attack these invisible creatures! Very disappointed to see an NPC being bugged. Perhaps? Especially at this time at the launch on Steam.

-And of course, just as I spawned in at the very beginning, I were attacked by another player. Not saying it's a complete negative issue. After all, it's a mix of MMO and PVP. Perhaps it's just me who doesn't like being attacked just as I spawn in, into a new game that I've never played before..

-------First experience conclusion-------

So far the game feels promising and it has potential to improve a lot. Tho, the major issues such as the invisible creatures must be dealt with as soon as possible. 50% of the experience is being ruined due to this problem and making it somewhat unplayable right now. Especially if you wanna settle down somewhere.
Tho, as I have looked forward to this game for some time now, I can't go too harsh on it. It's still in development and I hope the developers fix and update the game often to improve it's current.. minor issues.
