I have fond childhood memories of playing SS3 and I'm craving for some interesting historical war-game. Following the positive reviews, decided to get this one and was rather amused... for about 30 minutes.
The game looks fine. Micro-controlling unit groups is rather refreshing in this age of gaming and feels super hardcore, which is good. However, it all falls apart because of terrible AI.
You shoot an enemy soldier for 40 seconds (your troops or vehicles miss A LOT) and they do absolutely nothing. At first it raises an eyebrow and you're like 'no, that can't be it, it's probably a bug'. Alas, it's not the case. Enemies ignore anything if that's beyond their view distance, even if you are actually shelling them with all your artillery post. I mean, when you realize this, the game simply stops being fun.
Had this game in my wishlist (originally for a PS4-version, but hesitate due to controls) for over a year. Requested a refund under one hour.
