Ignore the negative reviews, this is a true remaster of AOE 1. No gates, weird balance and crappy pathfinding. Not AOE2, tons of people cant seem to get their heads around that. If you want to play AOE2:DE wait for it! This is perfectly fine with a couple of QOL fixes without changing the feel of the game and even has a nostalgia mode which sets the old graphics and music and removes all the QOL fixes if you have to play it just like the original. ngl the old music brings back the memories. You can replace the music if you want with some quick copy pasting. Solid 8/10.

Skyrim was a great game until someone got the dumb idea to monetise mods.

If you think a modder is good enough to be a developer hire them for your dev team to make actual content for your empty games so modders dont need to make so much content for them in the first place, dont start killing the modding scene by ensuring everything must be paid content.

Good modders will no longer make/maintain mods for the community if you ensure you need to get a cut. Elder scrolls/Fallout games survive simply because everyone knows there is a great free modding scene and you are killing it single handedly by triple dipping (base game, dlc, mtx as the form of mods).

At this point no-one really plays skyrim, but I am hell as sure not going to buy the next elder scrolls game if the same practice is present in the next one.
