Despite being a 7 years old game it still packs a punch.
Here's the pros:
Realistic yet fun handling.
An "instant replay" mode which allows you to retry a turn that you messed up on.
Varying difficulty levels, AI can get nasty on extreme but the game also handles better.
Awesome graphics for a game of its age.
Great collision animations and damage engine.
A variety of races.
LAN mode.

Cons:
No drag races!
Your partners can sometimes be stupid.
No online multiplayer but you can use hamachi to compensate.
