Fans of Dead Island and Far Cry are going to love this. The story is interesting, the voice acting is decent, and the environment is really diverse and realistic.

First of all, there's the "parkour" aspect of the game. Loads of fun. That is all.

Brought back from Dead Island is the same weapon system in general: find whatever you can and craft into something better. Added this time around is an upgrade system that allows for stat increases to that weapon. Things like electricity and fire can be added to weapons, much like they did with Dead Island. Weapons can only be repaired a certain number of times before they just can't take it anymore.

Nights are genuinely scary and difficult to survive. For those not so good at stealth and survival, most nights can be skipped by just resting until morning (time skip) in a safe house. There are a few missions that are required to be done at night though.

Definitely worth the price.

This game looked like it was going to be awesome when it came out. As a fan of Uber's previous RTS games, I was really disappointed with this one in the end. Construction is chaotic and just a pain. Unit pathfinding is terrible. Factions are terribly unbalanced. If you get it on sale really cheap, go for it. Otherwise, save your money.

I would recommend this to anyone who hasn't played any of the Men of War series before. If you own any of the WWII era Men of War games, there is nothing in this game that isn't in those except new campaign lines. Everything is identical. Unless you're a huge fan, don't bother getting this one if you have one of the previous ones.

Now, if you haven't played a Men of War game before and are a fan of WWII RTS games, then definitely have a look at this one. The level of detail in the game is just crazy.

- Destructible environment: Nearly everything can be destroyed. Bomb it, grenade it, drive a tank through it. Buildings, trees, almost everything.

- Detailed vehicle system: Vehicles need fuel. They also have detailed parts that can be damaged, like the tracks, the turret, and the engine. They can also be repaired to get a vehicle back in action.

- Supplies: Troops need ammo. Take ammo from dead soldiers or call in a supply truck to resupply your troops.

- Detailed maps: The maps are very life like. The structures can be used for cover, or to lay a trap for oncoming soldiers.

These are staples of the series, going back to the original Faces of War. If you get the chance to pick up any in the series, go for it.

I'm glad I got this for only 49 cents. A penny more and I think I would have felt mugged.

This game is very beautifully crafted. The underwater scenes are just fantastic. The default controls are a bit weird, not where I would have put them.

The vehicles are also a nice touch. I guess they feel like you would expect them to if they were real. The survival system seems to be an annoyance right now more than anything. There are some bugs, it is early access after all, but nothing really game breaking... except two things...

No autosave option currently exists. If you exit the game or if the game crashes (which happens often) you lose everything since you last saved. It's annoying having to stop every 5 minutes to go in and save the game.

There is a complete lack of content as well. Once you've built everything, which takes about an hour at most, all there is to do is drive around in your sub and explore. Now, that'd be cool if there was anything to look at. It's the same thing over and over and over. No variety, no point.

Once they implement an autosave feature and get some meat on the bones, then I'll look at this again. Until then, it's just sitting on the shelf.

Update: DO NOT BUY this game. It is unfinished and development of this game has now stopped indefinitely.

My original review:
I know it's only $20, but don't buy this game. Gift it to someone you hate, but don't buy it for yourself. No, instead your $20 would be much better spent on any other game, but not this steaming pile of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

After a year of promises and blog posts, the long awaited UE 4 version is out, and it still sucks. The Devs Linger... er, I mean The Dead Linger has been one disappointment after another. So many promises made to Kickstarter backers and early access players, and they're slowly backing out of those promises one by one. The latest one, it will no longer be a procedurally generated world, the thing that made this game stand out in the first place. The thing that hooked us all in the beginning. Nope, now it's a fixed size map that's so tiny compared to what we were promised.

On top of the already slow progress Sandswept has made (almost 3 years in alpha, even longer than DayZ), they are now on their third engine for this game, slowing down production even more with the changes. Now that it's finally out after year of work with the new engine and the game still looks more like ♥♥♥♥ than it did before UE4. On top of all the bad decisions, and after breaking so many promises as to what they were going to develop, they refuse to give refunds to anyone whether they are Kickstarter backers or early access players.

A simple thumbs down is just not enough to express my feelings about this game. No, Steam really needs a middle finger button, so we can give back to Sandswept the great big "♥♥♥♥ you" they've given all of us.

Feels like a really done up Facebook game. Combat is terrible, buggy and unbalanced. There's no real strategy to anything in this game.

Good in concept, poor in execution. Zombies aren't a threat, in fact there's almost no zombies in the damn thing anymore. There's no reason to work together because like all games of this kind it just turns into a zombie themed deathmatch. People just shoot you for the sake of shooting you as there's no incentive to try to survive or work together. It's just become one giant PVP arena with almost nothing to do with zombies. Developers are so slow as well. I've had this game for almost 2 years and hardly anything has changed in it. Seems like the developers just aren't doing anything with it anymore.

Packed with cheaters and bad development decisions, I can't recommend paying for this game until the developers can get their act together. They claim they're working on improving their cheat system and they make improvements every day, but cheaters are getting worse and worse. PvP is barely playable without getting hit by a cheater. Battle Royale crashes, drops players through the map, disconnects players, and is just as full of cheaters. Prizes are being dwindled down to almost nothing.

The zombies in the game are a joke. Even when working properly they aren't a threat. Much like DayZ, this game has just become a big zombie apocalypse themed deathmatch on PVP servers and a bore on PVE servers.

And now, joining the ranks of The Dead Linger, H1Z1 has decided that they're not going ahead with the map we were promised in the beginning, but are going to be stuck with the tiny little map they started with and that map expansions are not on the "immediate horizon".

DCG/SOE has repeatedly lied to us (like the whole "no pay to win", then adding weapons and ammo to paid air drops). Until they get their ♥♥♥♥ together, avoid this game like the H1Z1 plague that it is.

That, boys and girls, is why you should avoid early access games. Most of them draw you in with promises that they'll never keep or games they'll never finish...

If you love physics sandboxes or rocketry or space or any combination of those, you're going to love this game. I was reluctant at first because I thought it looked silly. Picked it up on sale finally and found that it would have been worth every penny of the full price. Whether you just want to goof around or seriously try to accomplish a mission, this game is loads of fun.
