Blender is a unique 3D software that will continue to constantly improve because of its community and support from players like Ubisoft, EpicGames and Microsoft who all contribute to the Blender trust fund. It is slowly becoming better and better. Cycles is getting better, we have Evee, the sculpting is starting to rival Zbrush, blender single file collaboration support and ease of importing to various software like substance painter or mixer, armor paint, zbrush or unreal engine.

The learning curve is not that steep, and you just need to convince yourself that you can do it no matter how difficult it may seem at the start. There are many youtube tutorials and courses available on Udemy. Opportunities can be opened to you for gigs on Fivver or upwork. I had gigs for a spaceX employee and for a military arms dealer in the netherlands asking me to make Light/heavy armored vehicles. Operation Harhsdoorstop also uses blender in its pipeline, and I am an affiliate there. Many of the Drakeling Labs people use blender and import things around to marmoset tool bag and other software. At the end of the day its the final output that matters.

I personally got into blender 2 years ago, and have started using the steam build fairly recently. Since then I have been practicing 3D hardsurface modelling. Since the industry is still stuck with maya's robust platform, I will eventually have to study more of that and leave blender for awhile since i plan to get into game dev, but I will never stop choosing blender for personal projects. I love blender, and I hope that you will pick it up as well and fall in love, and remain in love too! Godbless!
