This is the kind of game you play for 4 hours and wonder what your supposed to be doing, have no way of knowing how your supposed to be doing whatever it is your supposed to be doing, and doing nothing in the process.

It doesn't respect your time. Pass until it does.

Edit to Dev Response:

Thank you for responding, that's much appreciated. Yes I did the quests, then got tired of them at around level 30. I joined Gloria Victis for PVP and wanted to PVP -- thats when the massive time-wasting began to the point of frustration enough to stop playing.

As you mentioned the base idea and most pushed marketing was pvp, however to get into pvp, we have to look for npcs that are impossible to find and/or run across lands for 30 minutes, hitting walls, getting stuck, going around further, etc to get to pvp zones, and even then you may not get there.

PVP in Gloria Victis is not easily accessible to new players, that's the problem and one I'm not going to be patient for when its the entire premise of the game.

Except for 1v1 arena matches (which I didn't even try but assume work), a new player will only find PvE quests ad-naseum and have to jump through hoops to even begin the process of meaningful PVP.

It doesn't respect our time, and since you responded I gave some constructive criticism and will offer a..

...solution:
When players first join, explain to them EXACTLY how to get into PVP with the first main NPC quest giver. The quest giver would offer 2 routes: 1. PvE learning the game quests. 2. Clear instructions on how to get into world PVP at any point. That would solve the issue I, and likely many others, found most annoying.

Brand new to the game, not normally something I'd play but enjoying it so far.

A whole lotta game to go though... this is the honeymoon period.

Within the first 10 minutes the game you realize it's easy to learn, has deep strategy, plentiful and meaningful loot/customization/builds, and is gets it's hooks into you.

Great job A+

Been waiting for a a remotely good DnD pc game since NWN 1 and 2, and knowing the top-notch quality that Larian produced in both DOS 1 and 2, I cannot be more happy knowing this will become a legend of an RPG.

Course, without a DM client and advanced modding like NWN1... it will be unable to ursurp NWN1 as the greatest pnp translation of DND of all time.

Feb 13, 2020 @ 12:36 PM - Playing online with my friends, totally rocking the Legendary Loot, zero lag, solid servers and having a blast.

P.S.
If you expected this kind of review 36 minutes after release of a popular server-based arpg, prolly should uninstall and refund you'd do us all, and yourself, a favor.

Feb 18 - Online is still a right mess as one might expect, offline is ok but only for mucking about with skills. Devs seem fairly incompetent unfortunately, I've done more than my fair share of alpha/beta/releases and seen plenty of dedicated 1-2 man dev teams pump out pages of bug fixes and adjustments quickly as well as keeping the community informed and appreciated. Yet Wolcen devs seem not to take their game seriously at all -- Wolcen is riddled to the core with problems (which is fine if there's some real initiative to get it done). Willing to wait it out.

Tough, addictive, and plenty of 'wow' moments which is a rarity when you've been gaming for 35+ years. Get it.
