I absolutely adore Dirt: Rally, RBR, WRC9 etc. and love the tight driving, sound design and intensity of those games. The latter of those however keeps me from playing those games for hours at a time however as I am not always in the mood to have my hands sweat and heart pound if I just want a chill game to lay back with. This is where art of rally comes in. Still has all the same driving mechanics (i.e left foot braking, scandi flicks etc.) to be expected from any good rally game, except this is much more laid back in its approach. The top down view makes you able to see turns coming up without any codriver speaking pacenotes as you hang on to their every word, instead you can lay back, put on some music or use the games OST (not my taste in music but still brilliantly done), sit back with a controller and still play a fantastic, historically accurate rally game with serene graphics and fun, satisfying handling. I rarely play games anymore and I can see myself sinking a few hours per week into this. Fantastic.

♥♥♥♥♥♥ business practices in an otherwise near-perfect rally game. Playing with a wheel and shifter is the closest I've come to nirvana.

If I wanted to play Melee, I would just play Melee, but I play this because I want to play Rivals. It's similar but I don't play this game as a substitute for Smash, but more alongside it. The mechanics lend themselves to super offensive and aggresive play, which is easily how I like my games. Super combo heavy but not to the point where combos are free and with one hit a stock is lost. The amount of mind games that go into reading an opponents DI and knowing what will follow up with itself is insane. For me, Melee will always be on top but this is a breath of fresh air and I hope the community stays active for years to come.
TL;DR: Like Melee but with easier tech skill and more aggresive play.

Fantastic platformer. Packed to the brim with content from the devs and even more from community made levels. Once the jumping and momentum clicks it's precise, every death is your fault. Everything from the soundtrack to the graphics is refined beyond belief. The perfect pure platformer. It's also hard as ♥♥♥♥.
