Early Access Review
Embrace the Depths.

By the early 21st century, the mankind sent the very first manned flights towards Europa, one of Jupiter's moons, known to have water on it. As the first colonists arrived and drilled through the ice, they indeed found oceans worth of water, but also something they didn't really believe they could find: life. It didn't take long before they realized that the deep, cold waters hid something not quite out of your everyday nature, but from the deepest, darkest pits of nightmares.

Barotrauma is by far one of the most successful and authentically frightening indie horror game out there. In it you play as a crew of a submarine, tasked to perform varying missions, ranging from escorting important personnel from site A to site B, delivering precious cargo to drop-off points, mining ores in the depths or even laying waste to malicious pirate crews of once loyal sailors such as yourself. The tasks are numerous and the environments randomly generated, providing entertainment for even bigger playgroups for dozens of hours in a single campaign, all the while upgrading the submarine and unlocking new skills and abilities for your characters.

The game includes six different classes, each of which feels unique and useful on their own aspect, and having a ton of powerful perks gained gradually upon leveling up:
- Captain. Your goal is to pilot the ship as well as oversee its status. A leak somewhere? Order someone to fix it. Intruders on sonar? Command the crew to man the weapons!
- Security Officer. No matter whether big or small, security officers excel at neutralizing targets. You are the law.
- Engineer. The submarines' nuclear reactors and electrical equipment go through constant wear and tear. Keep them operational! And, when you feel like it, optimize wiring to create your very own technological marvel!
- Mechanic. A hole in the hull? Call the mechanic. A broken piece of machinery? Call the mechanic. Some disassembly required? Call the mechanic. Someone's gotta do the dirty jobs, you know?
- Doctor. Whether you want to keep everyone alive or just play a mad scientist, this career is just for you.
- Assistant. A jack of all trades. For those people who have hard time choosing what to specialize in, or just for those who wish to don a clown costume and stop by an outpost to go on a merry rampage.

Every single aspect of the game provides its own challenges: mastering the submarine is a task of its own, as well as combat, tool usage, various skills, coding-like rewiring for nerds, not to mention teamwork on its own: Barotrauma is a game which really emphasizes teamplay, because only those who stick together can survive in the depths against dangerous criminals, gargantuan sea monsters, enormous water pressure, and the devils lurking in the psyche of every single human.

PROS:
+ A close-knit co-op.
+ A complex and rewarding system for those who wish to master it.
+ A long campaign.
+ An authentically terrifying experience.

CONS:
- A bit buggy.
- A poor game to play alone.
- Can be difficult to learn, despite some duties being easier than others.

TOTAL RATING: 5/5

Barotrauma might be one of the best games I've ever played, having so many good qualities in it. If you like co-op games, horror, and don't mind taking your time to learn a trick or two, this game is most likely for you. The biggest downfall of it is that you require the presence of at least 2-3 friends to play as an efficient crew. You can always use bots when needed, but they are just not the same. I still don't think that this is the game's fault, thus increasing its rating even further.

So, what are you going to do:
The depths are calling, will you answer?

A child's innocence with a hint of insanity.

Fran Bow is a point-and-click style horror game which explores the life of a young girl named Fran Bow, whose parents were brutally murdered. The game itself focuses mainly around Fran's life after the incident and the lapses in her mental wellbeing. The main elements of the game are careful exploring and problem-solving in creepy and sometimes even plain weird environments. One could say this game is some sort of modern-ish variation of Alice in the Wonderland.

PROS:

+ Fran herself is absolutely lovable: A well-written and a very naive character, who radiates childhood innocence.
+ Surprisingly wholesome characters.
+ Genuinely distressing environments.
+ Storyline that is weird in a lovable way.
+ Absolutely adorable artwork.

CONS:

- A few puzzles are just too weird.
- Some could say that the storyline gets a bit too wacky every now and then, but that purely depends on the player itself.
- Too short. I WANT MORE!

OVERALL OPINION:

4.5/5
To be fair, when I begun playing Fran Bow, I didn't believe it to be THIS good. Fortunately I was wrong, and the game succeeded to charm me in every turn it took. Adorable characters, a tempting murder mystery and just enough weird storyline and setting secured a firm place in my heart. I wanted the game to last longer. Easily one of the best horror games I've played, if not even the best.

I cannot wait for the upcoming game of Killmonday Games! You better not let me down!

Apocalypse has never felt this good before.

Fallout: New Vegas has been my long-time favorite on PS3, and I bought it out on Steam just for the sake of having it. The game combines both the feeling and look of Fallout 3 with some added mechanics, creating a highly enjoyable and intense RPG experience.

PROS:
+ Interesting environments, factions and characters.
+ Intense and gory gunfights.
+ Highly customizable player character > Numerous different playstyles.
+ A ton of choices even in mundane quests.
+ Hardcore mode = A challenge mode where the wasteland shows its true self.
+ A ton of awesome add-on/mod material.

CONS:
- You can't continue the same save file after completing the game.
- Graphics are pretty ugly without mods.
- Tends to crash every now and then.

OVERALL RATING:
4.5/5
Fallout: New Vegas has a unique feeling to it, as if it was made to fix all the problems Fallout 3 had. The endless radioactive wastelands and terrible foes remind you what the franchise is all about: War. And you know what they say about war? It never changes.
