Warzone 2 & DMZ mode are not too bad, something to play when bored but don't expect anything incredible. Will need a ton of patches and updates to get better.

One of my favourite and best free fps multiplayer games ever made, great to see it on Steam.

What an incredible game. Amazing level flow, variety of environments & enemies, great soundtrack, astounding visuals & level design. The best part are the boss fights, very creative and challenging. Unique game that everyone who is a fan of fps games should complete at least once. Highly recommended.

Many good things about this game, the feel, music and overall graphical design is incredible, but overall I am just not having as much fun as I had expected so I cannot recommend it.

The level design is chaotic and requires a ton of backtracking with limited logical paths for progressions, on some levels I'm getting stuck far too long before finding the right area, progression should be more natural. The attention to detail is cool, and the look of everything is great but the overall design is just not there. Simpler design worked better in the past.

Enemies kind of suck, the 3 grunt like enemies I have encountered are all kind of similar. The spiders are just annoying. I feel the enemy sprites should be wider and bigger, the spiders are way too small and the enemies seem much too thin compared to Duke 3D. There isn't much indication when getting shot from a far distance, the maps are far larger then ever before but enemies still shoot you across the map.

Weapons aren't that great and don't feel powerful. The pixel perfect shots are the most annoying parts, If a ledge is blocking an enemy your shots don't always register despite you being able to see their entire head & having your crosshair on the enemy.

I might give this game another go but so far I am not feeling it.

Didn't like it after the first level, but soon after I figured it out with the whole upgrade and level progression system. Played a few hours and it's really fun and well made.

I only played a little bit, but could not get into it. Impressive that it is using GZDoom but this not a typical Doom like game, the map design and progression of this game is odd, for the most part I was confused by the map design and had to have my map overlay enabled, stumbling upon items by accident, the first few levels are terrible in my opinion, you are literally just backtracking and hunting for keys while reading notes and messages.

I may give it another go again, but so far this one is not for me. :(

Early Access Review
I was about to give this game a negative review after playing for 20 minutes, but the more I played the better the level design got and some of the boss fights were pretty cool. So i kind of enjoyed it.

This game suffers from a few annoying issues, first is the save system, it is stupid, just do in-game saving like every game. Second is the ladders require you to jump instead of allowing you to move forward. Third is the gimmicks like weapon mods and bullet time aren't really needed, the weapons mods aren't that bad but it's too much for this style of game. The forward dash is the only thing that sort of works.

It's not a bad game and does have interesting aesthetics, but there are many others that do it better in my opinion.

Brilliant little game, I love the engine seems to run really well and this game really captures the aesthetics of 90s quake.

Biggest complaint is all the videos and transition screens, it's just a waste of time, takes far too long to get to the action. Otherwise I found the gameplay boring, you are either shooting mindless groups of enemies in a team or playing sub-par PvP. There are other games that do it much better.

The visuals are decent however.

I'm sure some will find it fun, but it just doesn't cut it for me.

Randomly spotted this game because it became free to play. I wasn't really aware it existed and I don't know much about the drama with The Culling 2. Judging from several hours I played to today, the game is a lot of fun. Granted I am not very good and there are people with hundreds and thousands of hours who will destroy you. It adds a major twist to the battle royale genre, mostly because the majority of the battles are melee combat and require practice and skill. However there are also some limited guns with low ammo, explosives, traps, crafting, perks, toxic gas, gathering points to call in air drops and many other interesting mechanics.

I found an annoying bug where alt+tab can cause the game to freeze on occasion, especially if during loading? (might be related to easyanticheat?)

Also there doesn't appear to be an option to invert mouse look inside the game? (At least I couldn't find it) But snce this is the unreal engine, opening C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Local\TheCulling\Saved\Config\WindowsClient\GameUserSettings.ini and changing bInvertY=False to bInvertY=True will enable inverted/inverse mouse look in The Culling.

I really hope it picks up again as the current player base seems small. Might be an uphill battle but I hope devs do not abandon this game.

EDIT: Sad to see the game is pretty much dead as of late 2018.
