Console port cash grab with dated cover based / stealth gameplay (all the rage in 2013) and unusable graphics settings due to the poor optimization. The story is good, but everyone knows the ending. It's disrespectful that this game is $60 a full 10 years after release. Get it on sale, if at all.

Hogwarts and hogsmeade are well made but the entire world excluding these points are open world fluff garbage. The story is boring and the characters suck. This game might be cool for a small child if you can get it on sale.

I cannot muster the effort to finish this game.

10 Months since my initial review and I would struggle to name a single character.

Early Access Review
Valheim takes mechanics that are characteristic of survival games and streamlines them. Easily hundreds of hours of survival type gameplay and it will seldom feel like a survival type grind. Progression feels natural and the biomes you progress to are diverse enough to keep things interesting.

Needs more adequate support for larger groups of people and potentially PvP server locked characters before this game can be PvP viable. Currently you can console command stats and items, and the servers get super laggy around the 8-10 mark.

Great co-op/ single player experience.

I loved remnant, but I made it all of 25 minutes before requesting a refund. This game feels like total regression. Combat was bland, enemies were boring and everything feels like a tedious time waster. I bet the story is pretty good if you can slog through the rest.

Fundamentally tight gameplay, different biomes bring different enemies and unique bosses. Many weapon/ armor combinations can be used for varying levels of success depending on what enemies are in the biome. Tons of bosses. It's honestly just a simple concept with perfect execution. Pay the $40, get 50-100+ hrs of quality content. Good solo or with friends.

High MMR lobbies make you realize that region locking china is the most effective anti-cheat. It's not racist Crytek, it's a matter of record.

Edit: I loaded in to try the new content with some of my friends and see if the Chinese cheater problem had been resolved. After kitting up using the new bloated menu, invite failed 6 times and we quit the game. I will retry it when the reviews state UI is fixed. This menu stinks, after dealing with it none of the three of us were excited to try the new content anymore.

Game seemed cool, but any server with a decent sized player base had a chinese name and 400 ping.

In place of a traditional story there is only pieces of random lore and profoundly unique factions in a sandbox type environment. These lore bits are just enough to let your imagination run wild with the friction between factions and where your character(s) fit in the scheme of it all. Kenshi is loads of fun and unique to any other game i've ever played. Highly recommend.
