I'm sorry this is just not finished and I can't confidently say it even improves the game. At the time of this review, the game seems to be straight up worse with the DLC than it is without it.
Such a shame because I was really willing to give Gearbox a chance here, but it feels like it was rushed to release.
Maybe, MAYBE it'll get better in an update, but even then it wouldn't be worth your money, it'd just be inoffensive.

A personal annoyance, I'm really disappointed about Chef. I was so excited for that character, but it feels like every single aspect of their gameplay has negative synergy with all the other parts. Just a character with 4 moves that don't compliment each other at all.
  • you have no vertical mobility but your secondary can't be aimed upwards
  • you have to mash your primary, which is uncomfortable, but you can also mash it too fast and it won't reach the enemy, and it goes on COOLDOWN, but that's your only tool against flyers, which is half of the enemies in the entire game. If you miss your shot, you gotta recall your missed shot before shooting another, on controller all that R2 mashing is actually a bit painful!
  • you need to use 2 different attacks to cook an enemy so if you 1shot them you wasted a cooldown, and if you used your primary you also wasted your only anti-flying move bc it's on cooldown now. the chef is literally bad at cooking
  • even if you do cook an enemy, chef is slow so it's hard to get to it, but it also has a comically much smaller pickup radius than anything else in the game, so it's hard to collect even if you spend a cooldown to dash towards it

i feel like i'm going crazy! the whole time I just wish I was any other character. meanwhile I'm fighting annoying DLC enemies and elites and glitches that make the game not fun.
keep in mind, they're charging more for this than they would pay for Claptrap's VA

Hopoo's version of RoR2 was better. you don't need this, and RoR doesn't need Gearbox, but I do need a refund
